Fearless & Free
We can walk with freedom
From fear from others
Because God’s the only Judge
And not our sisters or our brothers
We can walk with joy
And be free from fear
Because God is always gracious
When we draw near.
Wendy/2017
It takes courage to submit manuscripts of any length to editors, agents, or publishers. And even when they do like what you’ve written, it takes courage to go through the editing process. The same fearlessness is required whenever we do something brave and bold. I’m grateful for the gracious critique partners and editors I’ve been working with this last while.
As many of you may have already noticed, I love to write both fiction and memoir. I’m pleased to announce one of my short stories and a photograph have been published in an InScribe Christian Writer’s anthology: Christmas Stories & More.
If you’d like to enter to win a copy, please subscribe to my newsletter e-mail list by clicking here: Wendy’s Newsletter. If you have already subscribed, your name is automatically entered into the draw. I will contact and announce the winner on September 1st, 2017. I’m happy to mail the winner a copy to anywhere on the planet; the winner can give me their mailing address privately when I notify them.
If you’d like to order one or more books from me ($20.00 Canadian plus postage), e-mail me at purselanestudio@gmail by June 30, 2017, and I will personally send one to you.
And speaking of memoir writing, I have a guest post on HeartWingsBlog.com about a time I was falsely accused of something. You can read it by clicking here:
What is your favorite genre to read or write? I’m nosy-to-know. <3
Christmas in summer blessings ~ Wendy
Do not be afraid of any man,
for judgment belongs to God.
Deuteronomy 1:17 NIV
I enjoy reading inspirational Christian fiction. 🙂 Congratulations on being published. I hope to be published one day.
Thank you, dear Melissa. I love inspirational fiction too. Blessings on your writing and publishing journey. <3
Yahoo! Wonderful accomplishment, Wendy. Not the least surprised though. Your creativity, enthusiasm, perseverance and passion have worked their ways and now, you are a published author! Enjoy the success! So proud of you.
Thank you, dear Diane. “Perseverance and passion” are prerequisites to getting anywhere in today’s publishing climate–that’s for sure. 🙂 Both of which you have in abundance. Blessings on your projects and on the sales of your excellent book. <3
Congrats, Wendy! I can tell you are a great writer. You asked my favorite genre to read: definitely fantasy! I write all sorts of genres, though. 😊
Thank you, dear friend. <3 Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and George MacDonald are my favorite fantasy authors. When done well, it's an awesome genre.
Oh yes! I love especially Tolkien and Lewis. I have so many favorite authors I started to type the names of just now and then I’m like, “This list will never end!” 😜
I stopped because I can’t remember how to spell some of the names. 🙂
Lol! 😋
So Happy for you 🙂 It takes even more courage to submit Christian material in this age of Anti-everything. A True Blessing. YAY For YOU 🙂 and Praises BE 🙂
Thank you, dear Morgan. I hear you about the “Anti-everything.” Even if a writer gets published by a faith-based publisher, Christian writers are sometimes subjected to one star ratings even though their book was clearly labeled inspirational. All we can do is turn the other page and keep writing in the way we’re called to write. <3
I entirely agree. Keep Writing…Keep sowing those seeds. They will fall on fertile soil you never expected 😉
Oh–my–yes. This is so true. I have authors to thank when I meet them on the other side. Some of my mentors have been writers who died before I discovered their inspirational works.
Yes ma’am! The whole process takes a bundle of courage. But God is in the courage-giving business. Congratulations, sweet friend! I’m proud of you for staying the course. Now the work has just begun…:)
Diane, I love your words: “But God is in the courage-giving business.” Amen. Here’s a link to an awesome podcast I listened to yesterday about this topic: http://www.communicatoracademy.com/2017/06/26/podcast-eps-42-busy-better-part-1/
Congratulations!
Thank you, dear Laurie. 🙂

Thank you, dear Gail. <3
Congratulations! It does take courage. I love the scripture! Reminds me who I’m writing for.
So true about “Who” we’re writing for. It helps to remember this on the days I don’t feel like I’ve got anything to offer. God provides the offering when we show up. Thank you, dear JoAnna. <3
It’s so wonderful to read your news, Wendy, congratulations. That’s a beautiful and inspiring text from scripture… indeed He is the only Judge! He has honoured your trust and faith in Him. ❤ Much love 🌹

Thank you, dear Zoey, for your encouraging words. <3 I'm curious to read the stories by the other contributors as the editors were careful in their selecting and editing process.

Congratulations! I am so happy for you. You are a great writer. <3
Thank you, sweet friend. I’m learning that good writing happens after lots and lots of rewriting. Nice to know I’m not alone in the need for editors and revisions. And how blessed we are that God is writing a story in each of our hearts and lives. I can’t wait for the happy-ending-return-of-the-King celebrations to begin. <3
I am very happy for you. Congratulations!
Thank you, Billy. It’s been a wonderful journey of learning.
