Over Land and Sea

Over Land and Sea

She guards their eyrie

Silent and still she waits

over the next generation

letting no harm befall her eggs

The nest carefully woven

Intertwining twigs and branches

A circle of love

in which they’ve planted

Eaglets’ hunger catered to

Fed from beak to beak

until the time of fledglings’ flight

Soaring over land and sea.

Creation’s Blessings ~ Wendy ❀

Our family went to visit Little River Nature Park.

It’s about a 15 minute drive away from our home,

and these pictures were all taken while we were there.

One of our sons spotted the eagle nest above us and pointed it out to me.

There were ducks and a busy beaver in the park too.

Once again my husband has shared a gem with us

that he discovered while on one of his service calls;

now I’ve shared it with you.

 * I’m posting two extra posts this week

as I will be taking a few weeks off from this blog starting in July. *

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

  1. What a beautiful nature walk your whole family took. Thank you for sharing it with us. And that eagle is really special. Such a lovely poem to go along with it. Will miss your posts in July! I hope you will be on vacation and enjoying yourself. many blessings.

  2. Wendy, I love your poem and photographs.The way you describe the nest as ‘a circle of love’ is just wonderful. Perfect! I love eagles, we used to see them when we were living in Scotland. I see hawks and the beautiful Red Kites quite frequently.

  3. The photos and scripture and poem are so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your gems with us! I loved the last photo of the trees! God bless you as you go with Him each day!

I enjoy a word in season, so I'd love it if you added an apple to the bowl.
