Shower Me With Blooms

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shower me with blooms
upon a springtime morn
when night’s shadows pass away
and a new day has been born
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Shower me with blessings
as I greet another day
with raindrop painted petals
freshly opened on display
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Shower me with grace
and flowery fragrant truth
collecting drops of mercy
that reflect the light of You
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Shower me with your Word
removing sin’s dark scar
and grant me now your Agape Love
to fill my ready heart.
On a recent Saturday, just after dawn, I noticed how lovely the raindrops looked in the morning light.  Special thanks to my handsome husband for making morning coffee and to my little dog who helps me get outside – the first thing each day!
  1. Beautiful ~ as always ~ it blesses my heart. to read and see what the Lord has for you to share with us, and it never disappoints! ~ Blessings ~
    1. Wow – thank you! I confess that I pray for help to post only what He would like me to publish…even if it is not politically correct – though it must be respectful.
  2. Peace-giving as always. Made me sad, though. Our rhododendron went to the compost pile in the sky last year. But our yellow tree peony has flourished, almost like it wants to make up for it!
    1. My garden favors rhododendrons; whereas my peonies would prefer less shade. My condolences for the loss of your rhodo… 🙂 I don’t have a tree peony (yet).
      1. I really should post more pics of our garden; we have some wonderful plants. Maybe some day when I have time to sort out the files and folders…
  3. What a visual feast Wendy! Just beautiful. And lovely poetry and bible verse. I’m glad you explained what agape was! (otherwise I would have had to look it up -): Learned something new today and so enjoyed your post. Have a great weekend.
    1. Linda, I love learning new things too. This week we discovered a new road to walk down in our neighborhood that runs along the back of a nature park. 🙂 Have a restful weekend.
  4. How sweet, Wendy… I just walked in from my garden, where I saw my first yellow iris blossom 🙂 … how neat to see your pictures…. loved the poetry!!!
  5. You are so gifted, Wendy–your poetry is perfectly lovely–and my goodness, the photos!! I’d like to reach through the screen and smell the flowers, if not gather a bouquet for my “office”! God bless you and the family abundantly–love, sis Caddo
    1. Caddo, you are welcome to my “office” to pick flowers anytime for yours. 🙂 Hanging out at your blog is rubbing off onto me, dear poet friend and mentor… xo
      1. Ooooh, does that mean you would share your photos–with proper credit–if I needed something special to go with a poem? (You can say “no”–I promise not to beg, whine, or pout!)
        1. I’d only hesitate because I want to use some, one day, in a book and on other items. As long I retain ownership of them, I’d be honored to share some with you, Caddo – but only you since you’re one of my big sisters. xo
          1. I would contact you personally first, as I fully understand and respect your book and other projects, dear heart. You are surely a prize-winning photographer, and I celebrate that with you–and am so thrilled to know you, and to enjoy your work on your blog. God bless!
  6. Stunningly beautiful, Wendy – both words and pictures. I can see some awesome greeting cards and calendars coming up in years to come 😉
  7. These flowers look like they posed for you, stood in a row and waited for you! So beautiful and the gift of your poetry with them is outstanding. Wendy, I have never read anything from you that I haven’t been touched by .. .thank you for ministering to us like you do! And thanks for including your other blog info on here. I don’t go to my reader and so missed it last week! God bless you and yours!
    p.s. I LOVED the amazing purses and brooches you make!
    1. Debbie, you most certainly have the gift of encouragement and the selfless heart of an angel. Thank you so much for blessing others and me like you do. xo
  8. Hello Wendy-Lee!! 🙂 Your poems are just beautiful and your pictures are just awesome too! I hope your having a great weekend! Hugs Paula xxx
    1. Hi Paula! I have been hanging out in the garden. My oldest son is starting to care about it as much as I do and has been helping out quite a bit. 🙂 xo I’m coming over to your blog, now, to visit. 🙂
  9. The topmost picture makes me think of being “washed in the water of the Word.” It looks like a lady dressed in a white robe, freshly washed.
    Thanks for the beautiful pictures.
  10. The like button is somehow not working properly today. Yes, God is Love, Love is God… I remember drawing a flower, wrote this on the background and added it to the bulletin board of a Champlain’s office that I hanged around during University days. Peace be with you.
  11. Wendy, the photography is stunning. All of it, but I especially appreciate the iris close-ups; the refreshing and tender blossoms are a delight.
    Thank you.
  12. There’s something just so magical about a garden after a lovely rain, isn’t there? What lovely flowers – a great variety already! It feels like I’ve just had a lovely wander through your garden space! 🙂
  13. Seeing the rain on each of these images…how thirst quenching! We need the rain So bad down here. I am glad the Lord is giving you plenty there♥ BTW…tell that husband he rocks with the new image of you!
    1. Laurie, I’d be happy to send some of this rain down to Texas. It’s raining again today… I’ll pass on the “he rocks” comment to Ian. 🙂
  14. Wendy, what beautiful photos and words! I’m so thankful for your kind comments you left me on my blog while I was “away”. It means a great deal to know that I have a friend in you. Thank you for caring. 🙂
    1. It is so nice to hear from you, Daisy! I think of you often as I have your name on my prayer list ever since I heard that you were moving. I find moving very exhausting even though I kinda like the adventure of it…xo
  15. I am just getting to many of my favorite blogs, after a busy string of days–end of school year, weekend with family…wonderful, sweet times! This poem is precisely what I was trying to explain to my precious little one before bed: the idea of unconditional love (from God and her parents/brother) no matter what. I also was praying for her to know the beauty of a new day, both literally and figuratively. She made some poor choices right before bed that left some family members with hurt feelings and her with lots of tears.
    I want her to know this love, this grace, this transformation as she learns to know Jesus more and more. “Jesus Loves Me” and “Amazing Grace” are the “soothing songs” she asks me to sing often before bed. May those words sink in to all our hearts!
    Your pictures remind me of the significance of water to represent freshness and life and reflection…wow, I am struck anew over how God reveals himself to us when once our eyes have been opened!!
    1. Alison, I find it exciting that our eyes are opened more and more over time. Even in rereading a portion of scripture I will see new things (for me anyways…) that He reveals.
      Blessings to you & your dear family xo
  16. The beauty of your blooms, Wendy, – images, themes and verses – are a feast for the eyes, heart and mind. Thank you for sharing.
    Peace, Eric
  17. Gorgeous photos and beautiful words that remind us to focus on our Creator and His creation! Thank you for sharing it with us.
  18. Lovely photos and meditative prayer/poems, Wendy. I heartily agree – husbands making coffee do make a morning truly wonderful and special. 🙂
