I know what you mean. We’re not allowed on their fields, so I have to zoom in from the roadside. Some days they stay too far back in the fields for any photo shoots. The Cowichan Valley is beautiful–we’re blessed to live on this island. 🙂
It seems many species of birds mate for life, even our little puffin. The Nature of Things had a wonderful show about them recently. Beautiful posts, Wendy. I hope you and your husband don’t have to worry about being apart for a very long time. 💕
Puffins are so adorable. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched The Nature of Things–thanks for the reminder of an iconic Canadian program. I’ve read some of David Suzuki’s nature books to my kids. Long live our husbands. ❤ (PS-I finished NaNoWriMo–wasn't the same without you.)
wonderful!

Thank you, Charlie. I was out watching them in the rain today. They’re as resilient as the ducks. 🙂

Thank you, Pastor Pete. The field is starting to look like Swan Lake with all the rain we’re getting. 🙂

This place you speak of seems like a magical place found in a really good book.
