Cold Shoulder
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve been here before
Your cold shoulder
doesn’t make me shudder
My eyes perceive ice
but my hallowed heart
dwells within the Sun
where warmth embraces
regardless of elements
Still – I offer you
a seat near Me
in this Eden
if you will
Let go of freezing thoughts
and melt in this moment
of unconditional Love
Lingering long enough
til all residual frost
has fallen.
Warm Hearted Blessings ~ Wendy
I often feel the most loved when creation reveals beauty that causes me to catch my breath. When do you feel closest to Divine Love?
For me it’s sunrises and sunsets. Nothing like the beautiful display of colors to begin or end my day to remind me that God is still ever so near. 🙂
Anna, I love being reminded that he is “ever so near”!
Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy 🙂
That’s beautiful, Wendy. Thank you.
Thank you, Echo! 🙂
wonderful, you have a way with words…love the photos…
Thank you, Heather! I love seeing the blue skies in your beautiful photos.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
you are very welcome…lol…can you tell how much I love the skies? it is part of who I am…
Our weather forecast says we may have some tomorrow. 🙂 It will be the first time in three weeks!!! ( except for a brief break twice)
A really nice poem. I don’t have an answer to your question. It is too deep for me to ponder at this time. Maybe later I can answer in a sincere way.
Thank you for your kind and honest words. I appreciate your visits.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
Wonderful poem and photos, as always, Wendy! In answer to your question, I find that He catches me with His love–off guard, at the oddest moments. Yesterday I was just in the kitchen, doing mundane, everyday things–and suddenly He was just flowing all around and over me. And I love to have Him hovering, as I write–Heaven on earth! God bless you Big–love, sis Caddo
Caddo, I love the element of surprise you’ve described! How like a Lover of our soul… God is love. Hugs!
Blessings dear sis ~ Wendy xo
I loved this Wendy . .. if you will let go of freezing thoughts and melt in this moment. Thank you for the beautiful way you capture His messages in your photos and poems and bring them to us! God bless you!
Debbie, I love those moments when I’ve chosen to think upon lovely thoughts when tempted to ride the whiny bus, and then I notice His Presence right there with me!
Blessings of His Presence, dear friend ~ Wendy xo
So thought provoking. Thank you.
Thank you! Nature provokes my thinking all the time.
Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy 🙂
Morning Wendy-Lee! I so love your poems and look forward to reading them. Have a great day/night! Lol Hugs Paula xxxx
Hi & hugs, Paulama. How are you and the Llamas doing? I’ve been a taxi-mama today. Tomorrow is an easier shift. 😉 I look forward to our little visits. If you lived a little closer I’d come and give you a hug in person! My daughter just brought me home a cute little garden angel ornament for my desk. I love little surprises too!
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
I would have loved that hug and the peace that surrounds you!! HUgs Paula xxxxx
I can give hugs…but the peace I have is from putting my trust in Jesus – otherwise I’m a sorry mess! 😉 Paula, today I spotted more spring bulbs poking through the soil as I applied a ground cover of homemade leaf mold. Signs of spring remind me of hope… xo
My fingers are crossed for you! Hugs Paula xxx
Beautiful poem!!! Great shots!!!
Hi Rexlin! I’m looking forward to the magnolia in bloom…
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
thank you so much for sharing your gift with words… love reading your blog!
Thank you, Heidi! I’m looking forward to seeing what lovely words and pictures you have on yours! The combination of poetry and photos is my favorite…
Wendy, this poem, together with the last one (haiku) both reminded me of what God has been speaking to me about lately… that I need to “take every thought captive” and be careful what I dwell on. When I think about His “unconditional love” as you wrote, and all I have been blessed with, it definitely affects my mood, my outlook, my day. Thanks for, as always, sharing your heart. 🙂
Thank you, Daisy! When I gain ground in one area then I notice weeds in another. The “walk” is much like tending a garden! But I love the beauty that blooms when good thoughts are cultivated and negative ones are pulled out. It’s way worth the discipline…
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
In this context I feel closest to the Divine when near greenery and water! 🙂 I love it! Also when I reflect on how He wonderfully takes care of me.
What an enchanting poem!
I love photographs that have water in them ( you may have noticed). 😉 Thank you, and may His care always be very visible to you!
Sometimes when we look at lovely things, we realize that our Lovely Lord is looking at them with us, we can even feel His delight in out delight.
Keep writing, Wendy, keep sharing the Blessing.
Oh, yes, I have wondered if He is like a parent who rejoices seeing his children delight in his landscaping! Wonderful thought you have presented here…
‘I’ve been here before’ – true learning to go deep must be revisited. But that feeling of deja vu helps our hearts to press on even through the winters – we know by experience that spring will come again! I love those moments of sheer beauty, too – but I also feel close to God when my heart is humbled, or tried, or sore. Those, too, are learning places…
Repetition is commonly used in my life’s classroom, Melody. 😉 I agree there is added intimacy with God in our humility and pain. But “there’s no better road than the one that leads to Heaven.”
Wendy wendy….what a dear you are to me!!!! Thanks for your kind words on the memorial post today. It meant alot…your words of HIS unconventional love is beyond. In my grieving period…I was not the most lovable and he was still there. Blessings.
Laurie, I had a hard time when my dad died 15 yrs ago and I think I know just what you mean… Then when a teen niece died 5 yrs ago I chose to trust no matter what – but it still hurt a lot. Pain in grief is so intense and unavoidable. It’s a fire that just has to be left to burn out in its own time. I wish there was a shortcut! Hugs!
I love the Strength in this poem x
Thank you! I know that I sure appreciate having Strength other than my own…
Beautiful and thought provoking poem, Wendy! I’m not sure if it’s Divine Love, but every day with snow and sun fills me up with a feeling of love, happiness and lots of energy. Hugs my friend!
Thank you, Calee! The sun makes me smile – even just thinking about it… 🙂
