Vein of Life
~~~~~~~~~~
Beauty bathes the day
with a freshness
that sparkles
Reminding me of better
days ahead
Days gilded with gold
everlasting
with leaves that whither not
and never-fading Light
Each tree offers its fruit
generously
and without end
A river flows and passes through
as Vein of Life
in a Royal City of Love
casting a mist of healing droplets
that glisten as diamonds
on lacy edge of bridal veil
while the King carries her
over the threshold.
I woke up yesterday morning and thought to myself that I want to stay focused on beauty. This poem came into my mind. So I leaned over and grabbed the pen and paper off my night table and wrote this down. As I wrote, I thought of these pictures…
Dear Wendy, Beautiful. Thanks and blessings, Ellen
Thank you, Ellen, for allowing me to share this with you!
Oh Wendy, this is indeed beauty and beautiful! Thank you for sharing not only it, but your desire to focus on beauty and then the poem coming to you. What an answer and what a blessing! I am thinking about the Light that never fades now! God bless you and all the beauty He shows you!
Thanks, Debbie! I truly felt a nudge to get my focus back onto beauty. As always, it was a gentle nudge…
God is love! His gentleness is always very evident in you and your poetry.
Wow-wonderful, Wendy! Beautiful romantic scene–I love the “Royal City of Love”. God bless you.
Thank you, Caddo, this one seemed, almost, to write itself in response to my decision to refocus on beauty!
I don’t know how you manage to write so well everyday? You inspire me!
Blessings ~ Wendy
Hallelujah Wendy! This was indeed beautiful, and the pictures evoke thoughts of the bride carried away by her King. 🙂
Isn’t wonderful to have such a beautiful & everlasting threshold to anticipate?
There is so much evil and awful in this world that to focus on beauty takes intent – I see the beauty in what you experienced here!
I agree with you, Melody. And focusing on “whatsoever is lovely” certainly helps us to be strengthened so we can be part of the solution. It sure beats being part of the problem…
What a gift you have!
Thank you, Gracie! I have always enjoyed writing poems; but, it wasn’t until I started following the Lord that I really got into it. His gift inspires me like nobody else!
Living with a poet is interesting, indeed. :}
