Her Brave One

Her Brave One

His mother

waves him goodbye

as he walks

down her front garden path

Tall, strong, and young

Her heart swells with love and pride

His mother reads his letter

Holding it to her breast

she prays…

for her tall, strong, and young one

to be brave

to be blessed

His mother wipes away a tear

after her son’s friend

embraces her

and tells her

that her tall, strong, and young one

was brave to the end

His mother waves goodbye

to the friend of her son

she turns

and places another flower

on the grave

of her brave one.

Thank you to everyone who helps and has helped keep this world safer than it would be without brave sons, brave daughters, and praying parents.

  1. its deep and touching.
it will be so beautiful if we wake up in a world where no mother will have to grieve her brave son, they will be living with others, and making the world better by being a part of it.

    1. It’s too bad that there needs to be defenders. But I am glad that they do their job. I can’t imagine what else would have happened if no one fought against Hitler… it was bad enough.

I enjoy a word in season, so I'd love it if you added an apple to the bowl.
