Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor

~~~~~~~~~~~
Take me through
salty seas
stormy
gales
whatever You please
For I know
in the end
my life in You
is never
spent
At journey’s end
I will be
in your
safe harbor
eternally.
Wendy/2012
I took this photo in Comox while waiting for my kind husband to come and jump start my van that refused to work, after our son’s dental appointment! Faith helped me make the best of a bad situation…
His grace can keep us calm deep inside and on the surface.
  1. Ah, yes – those days when nothing seems to go right can be a true test of our endurance and patience!! Looks like you passed with flying colours… 🙂
  2. I know the view in this photo well. My precious mom used to live in a condo overlooking this “safe harbor”. I’m so thankful she knew the safe harbor your poem speaks of, Wendy, and now she rests there with the “captain of her soul.”
    1. I remember meeting your mom, and I remember thinking she was a lovely lady! You must miss her. What great peace to know you’ll see her again at an even more beautiful harbor!
      Blessings to you, Valerie!
  3. Thank you for that image and those words–you already know from other comments how my week has been going, and reminding myself of the rest that comes from fleeing to Jesus is what I need to keep me going on the right path. I pray that my little girl also begins to learn the peace that our Lord can bring to our hearts!
    1. Parenting is both the hardest job and the most rewarding job on the planet. Children bring us into contact with all kinds of emotions like never before in our lives! It’s a roller-coaster ride! But the good moments are just so good – hang on to those when it gets bumpy. I know I sure do! And I have noticed that you do, too!
  4. I love this, I love this, Wendy! It’s amazing how faith and poetry weave together wherever we are, in so many circumstances! God bless you and the family–love, Caddo
    1. Thank you, Caddo! Hugs! Your comment makes me think of a hymn that I love. “I Need Thee Every Hour” I sure do need Him wherever I go…and all the time.
    1. Thank you, Debbie! Today the song by Chris Tomlin came to my mind: “How can I keep from singing Your praise…?” You are right…can’t help myself. I know you can’t either! 🙂
      ( Did I give you another ear worm?)
    1. You are correct! It is getting cold here. I spent an hour, today, putting mulch around some plants so they’ll stay cozy this winter. Enjoy your spring weather for both of us! 😉
