Still blooming
past picture prime
Though…
in His eyes –
you’re still sublime
While others
are faded and fallen,
you remain steadfast and stoic
deftly delivering
drops of mercy
Though disheveled
I still revel
in your beauty
A surface surpassing charm
remaining calm
through autumn storms
Refusing to submit
to harm.

On a recent Saturday morning, while I was opening the driveway gate for my husband, I noticed this flower about to release a drop of pooled rain. I got it just in time. (And I got the gate, too!) God’s mercy drops are new every morning, and always just in time.

PS – I hope that those who have experienced this week’s storm, have also experienced mercy.
What a beautiful picture!
Thank you!

There were mercy drops in my world today, too! 🙂
Glad to hear it! We’d dry up without them…

What a great moment to capture! Thank you for the reminder that His mercies are new every morning. I spent yesterday evening watching weather updates and friends’ updates from the Northeast as that storm hit…your poem makes me think of how much America needs those mercies, and also needs to recognize from where those mercies come! There was great destruction over the past 24 hours, but also a lot of mercy.
I love what you said, too, about God’s mercies always being on time. Yes, He is perfect in all things!
Thank you for your visit. 🙂 The earth seems to be groaning more these days… I really feel for those whose lives have been so uprooted. In our province we are having aftershocks from a recent earthquake. We seem to be okay where we live; but I heard on the news that people are being awakened by them and are getting run down. I pray that they run into their Father’s arms for comfort.

I hope the earth quiets down near you, soon. I agree, there is much groaning. The verse that kept going through my head yesterday as the NE braced for the storm was “if today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts”…I pray that eyes, ears, and hearts would be open!
I don’t why stuff happens… I just know that God can use it for good.
I love these photos! I can’t tell which one I like better. I think the top one for most things, but the bottom one would make a lovely sympathy card.
Cheers!
Nina
Thank you, Nina! I noticed today that those flowers, in my garden, are looking even sadder… They have lasted a long time and so it is time for them to rest.

I just love you running and capturing this shot and the gate, so that we could be reminded of His mercy today. Thank you so much! What you don’t go through for us. haha! love and prayers!
Thank you, Debbie, for appreciating my antics. My husband patiently smiles at me when I have a ‘nature moment’… and he often points out things for me to photograph.

“Mercy Drops”–I love that, and need more today! God bless you–love, Caddo
We need them everyday!
