Soon leaves

will be

all gone

to bed

But sky

I’ll look

to you

instead

To paint the day

with

reds and blues

plus

orange and violet

in muted

hues.

You offer yourself

as an easel

to hold

a canvas of colors

till evening

folds

A lesson from you

I need surely

obey

Just submit

to the Painter

as his brushes

have sway.
