When I see beauty or witness sacrificial love, I often think of Heaven and marvel at how wonderful it will be; I call this experience a glimpse of eternity.
Here’s an excerpt from a recent journal entry of mine that was inspired by Psalm 26:8.
Going home to Heaven won’t be anything like Dorothy’s trip to Oz. We won’t wish to return to our earthly home–whatsoever. We won’t need or want to click any red shoes together. We’ll be dressed in spotless white and all will be right. We’ll see Jesus face to face, and we’ll worship Him with satisfied souls.
He ain’t no fake wizard. He’s the King of Glory.

I long for the moment
when I see where You dwell
and I enter Your Glory Land
of all that’s holy and well

I don’t know about you, but I often think about Heaven when I’m disappointed in things around me. Sometimes I’ll half-jokingly say, “I’ll bet there won’t be things that break in Heaven. God doesn’t make junk.”
I also ponder Paradise when I experience pain; God said there won’t be any tears shed there.
I think it’s good to remember where God’s children are headed. It motivates us to keep walking forward regardless of how hard the journey gets. And when we see glimpses of eternity, we can give thanks and rejoice that the best is yet to come.

Yes, I think often of heaven. I am looking forward to no pain, no strife, total peace. Great thoughts here today.Lifts my heart to be reminded me of the glory where we are headed. 🙂

“Tell us Again Father!” I loved this about Heaven. God tells us again and again about our Home! I know He must have water falls, flowers, and animals too. But most of all will be His Glorious Light!❤️

I love this, dear friend! I often think of heaven as the place where not only my heavenly Father, but my earthly father as well, dwell together. I can’t wait for the reunion and the freedom from pain and struggle that await me there. However, God chooses that I remain here and I will do my best to glorify Him all the days of my life.

Heaven will be a place where no discord exists. We will all understand each other immediately without words. And I will have the opportunity to hug my Father and my Brother Jesus as often as I desire, and will be able to give hugs to all I feel moved to hug.
Susan, I crave to understand and be understood. <3 Fellowship and hugs in Heaven will be unhindered. It will be nice to finally be comfortable in a crowd too. 🙂

A beautiful post, Wendy. I think about heaven when loved ones die and when I think of my own death. I have no idea what to expect, except for the loving presence of God. By the way, I am listening to The Shack slowly, over the last few weeks. It’s a very interesting book.

I think of heaven a lot and honestly am looking forward to being there. I’ve always believed I would feel complete love there and that I’ve gone home. I’m not home here on this earth. It’s a struggle to be here to be frank. I know that when I get to heaven, I’ll find out the answers to all my questions and feel warm, welcomed and loved!

Lewis said: “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” I crave our Heavenly home more and more as I age. It’s nice to have something so wonderful to look forward to–isn’t it? I’m not in a hurry though, as I have many things I still would like to do. But I won’t complain if I’m called up yonder sooner than I expected. 🙂
