Living for Jesus, loving Him, and listening for His voice bring me great joy. I'm an inspirational writer, blogger, and podcaster who also loves to photograph creation.

Thank you, Rhonda. Our place has managed to inspire me, a beginner painter, to do a picture of it. I’d love to have you here when our nest has emptied out (bring your paints). Here’s a link to the one I finished earlier this year: https://thesketchypoet.wordpress.com/2015/02/22/home-sweet-home/
I would love to visit. Are we near one another? PS I’m a recovering perfectionist myself. I struggle with it every time I paint. Hugs and blessings to you my friend.
I live on Vancouver Island (West Coast) in Canada. So, it looks like we’re not exactly neighbors. Hugs back to you. PS. I have to ignore the critic in my head while I write and only listen to it when I’m ready to edit (otherwise there would be nothing to revise). 😉
Well. If you ever make it this way we have plenty of room!!

Looks like a beautiful home to live in! I love cottage gardens too; although mine is probably wilder than that now. Plants don’t seem to want to stay in borders!
Wendy, my dear on-line inspiration and mentor … so often your words, your writings, your thoughts, feelings and emotions that find themselves written in prose – are my link to another day of hanging on … of revival of spirit … of knowing that He has me right where I’m supposed to be – no matter how difficult the climb, how bitter the trial, or how painful the battle. My mother has always loved birds, yet I had a quiet fear of them flying too close to me. Over the past two years, when my life has been the most painful and challenging … I have cultivated a love of these tiny creatures of God … all different, all with a different song to sing, each one with something to teach me about this world that is our temporary home and the beauty that can be found in the ashes if only we persevere and look for the subtle highlights instead of concentrating on the devastating darkness that can overcome us in moments of undetected spiritual weakness. I have a usual collection of my friends who visit multiple times daily now to eat of my offerings, drink from my baths, or perhaps grab a delicacy of suet while leaving me with their sweet, sweet music. And then there is my gardens … the satisfaction of bringing forth new life, growth … and the visibility of His beauty that springs forth while tending His grounds. There is a sense of peace in working with the earth. I still question the hurts of my heart, the pains that never ease, but I do know that He has me on a journey that will cause me to be the victor in the end … and in my gardens, with my birds, and squirrels, and chippies … I find my rest in Him – if only for a moment. Blessings to you my dear sister in Christ – you are loved and appreciated this day.
Tami, thank you, dear friend, for these uplifting words. I also rest in the knowledge of being “the victor in the end.” And your wisdom in the following words blessed me this morning more than I can express : “…the beauty that can be found in the ashes if only we persevere and look for the subtle highlights instead of concentrating on the devastating darkness that can overcome us in moments of undetected spiritual weakness.” Yes, to look for—to focus on “whatsoever things are lovely” will get us through to the other side. How I wish I could transplant this way of thinking into a dear young soul I care about. But my job is to pray and believe the Holy Spirit will enlighten those I love. Christ has led me out of darkness, and He is able to lead those we’re praying for into His “marvelous Light.” Blessings & hugs. <3
Been over and commented! 😊 xx
Thank you, dear Christine. <3 Catherine has been a very kind and gracious hostess. Hugs.
What a beautiful garden Wendy!!! Your home is so quaint. A very inspiring place indeed. I could sit there for hours and paint!

Thank you, Karen. I can relate to the antics of ‘wildflowers’. Overflowing borders are charming.
So sweet, Wendy. Your home is beautiful. Just lovely. Thank you for sharing it with us. 🙂
Thank you for your visit, dear Shelli. It’s too hot to sit in the garden today, but we have a few shady spots to enjoy.

A garden is a wonderful place to feel nature and enjoy your words
Thank you, dear Marylou. I could visit gardens everyday. 🙂
What a beautiful garden, Wendy!
Thank you, Sue. The previous owner is happy we’ve adopted it and made it our own.
