Bold Prayers
There is no limit
to what God can do
so our prayers may be bold

I’ve shared a medley of short poems
I’ve collected from recent ones I’ve shared on Twitter and /or Facebook.
These are the ones that seemed to be most liked.
I’ve noticed the favorites with readers
are the ones I wrote out of a deep place of pondering
during my morning reading times.
I journal each morning.
In my journal I note a favorite Bible verse,
and I then write a poem in response to it.

I have linked this post with Sunday Stillness (author/artist Janis Cox)
I hope you will take a moment to enjoy her artwork and devotional.

This week I guest blogged,
on International Christian Fiction Writers,
about keeping a journal.
Here’s the link: ICFW
for those of you who haven’t read it yet.

From the Heart Blessings ~ Wendy ❀
~
Do you write in a personal journal?
~
Magnificient!.Words and pictures.
Thank you, dear Marylou. ❀
Lovely photos, heart prayers. Thank you, Wendy
Thank you, Mary Ann. I always enjoy your lovely garden pictures and thoughtful observations. ❀
Splendid! Love your words and pictures Wendy! 🙂
Thank you, Seyi. I enjoyed reading your true story of hope today. ❀
Appreciate your visiting Wendy. Thanks for reading.
Blessings. 🙂
HI Wendy. Beautiful words and beauiful photos. I feel your heart 🙂 Blessings to you. Wanda
Thank you, dear Wanda. Your nature photography is wonderful. ❀
Beautiful. It is amazing how it’s the from the heart stuff that resonates so deep with so many. Thank you for being such a blessing. 🙂
Marisa, that’s exactly what I love about your writing, and I think it’s why I’m so drawn to memoirs—real stories are really interesting. It’s comforting to find out we’re not alone. ❀
It’s funny Wendy, I only seem to journal when I’m going through trying times. I think it’s my way of processing out loud. Love your photos, verses and poems. <3
Diana xo
Diana, that’s one of the best times to write out your thoughts and feelings for the very reason you said. <3 I can tell by my handwriting if I was feeling tense when I made a journal entry. ❀
Me too!
So many of the spring flowers are so beautiful!
The first poem struck me especially. We tell God what to do, but only God knows the whole story and sees the whole picture. Kind of like telling God how to improve an apple blossom.
Peace
So true. My most common prayer is: “They will be done.” I’m such a lousy guesser at what’s best—so I leave that up to God. ❀
Beautiful words and pictures, Wendy. I love your blog.
Thank you, dear Bill. ❀ Like so many others do—I love your blog. You inspire “Unshakable Hope” to the max. 🙂
Wendy, your poems are beautiful. In my journal, I have a section for each person in my family … and when the girls would say something funny or brilliant, just something I knew I’d always want to remember, I’d jot it down. We laugh ourselves silly reading over it. I’ve been slacking off journaling lately … 🙂 I’ll regret it. 🙂 Memories forgotten.
Dear Shelli, I appreciate your reminder, as I have a journal for each of my children I started when I got pregnant—I keep forgetting to write in them. It’s fun to read old entries and pen prayers. ❀ But we can trust God to motivate us to do what must be done. There are so many flags waving for our attention in this life.
“So many flags waving for our attention” … oh, that’s the truth. 🙂
Sweet friend, thanks to you I found a couple of journals I’d forgotten about. I never know what I’ll find in my cluttered up desk. 🙂
How talented you are. It’s a nice idea to read a verse and write a response!
Thank you, Laura. Your photography is poetry inspiring. Nature is the best art. Blessings on your weekend. ❀
You are so sweet to say that Wendy, thank you!! Have a beautiful weekend yourself!
I love poems and verse together. Your photos are always so stunning Wendy and your words in this post are a great comfort. x
Thank you, Christine. <3 I'd like to put together a little book of verses, poems, and pictures—one day. The cover art on your book is lovely. ❀
That’s a wonderful idea Wendy and would make a really lovely gift for people too. Maybe you could approach Diane Denton to see if she might design your cover. X
It’s evident that you do spend time with God. Your medley and your photographs show that so beautifully, Wendy. You have encouraged me too. And I do journal each morning, spending time with God. Sometimes I draw out the verse and I write notes of praise and ask for lots of help. 🙂
❀ Tracy, I ask for lots of help too. 🙂
Wendy, I journal in the morning, too. Cuppa coffee, My Utmost for His Highest, and Jesus Calling. I choose a verse and away I go. Thanks for blessings, intercessory prayers, requests for myself, always asking to be closer, to know Him more deeply. Sometimes I get inspiration for my poetry during those times. Sometimes, I simply sit with Him and enjoy the being. Those times are special, as you well know. In the silence and beauty of the relationship.
Well said, Susan: “in the silence and beauty of the relationship.” ❀
Oh my goodness, what a feast for the senses this post and its photos are!! And I’m so sorry I’m so late in telling you that. I’m so far behind and the faster I go, the behinder I get it seems. The RLS has been awful lately but hopefully the new med wiil help with that and I’ll finally get caught up. In the meantime I hope all is well with you and yours. Hugs, N 🙂 <3
Dear Natalie, I’m always honored by your visits as I know you have a very busy blog. It’s never too late at my place for friends. <3 Blessings on your health and your week. ❀
Viewing your medley of flowers and reading the scripture was very much enjoyable and uplifting. Another beautiful presentation : )
Thank you, Teresa. Bible verses are like spiritual multivitamins to me. It feels like something’s missing when I miss a day. ❀
yes
Thank you. ❀
Wendy, you are such an inspiration. God has truly blessed you with gifts.
Thank you for blessing me, dear Gracie. ❀
This time of year is your time, i can tell by your garden and your words to comfort any soul. Blessings to you Wendy.
Thank you, Kath. I adore spring. In fact, I’m positive Heaven will have all the lovely attributes of eternal spring (plus the lovely fruits and vegetables of summer). Blessings on your weekend. ❀
What a nice thought, happy summer to you, as we shiver by the fire.
