On Twitter I enjoy sharing micro-poems with other tweeters
and reading their poetry.

It is a busy online community that includes many poets who love to share and read each others’ work.
~

I’ve noticed that since I’ve been spending regular time each morning
working on my first novel draft,
I don’t have the time and energy for writing longer poems (for now).
~
~
It is a season;
but I am enjoying writing the shorter ones
when a picture inspires me.
~
~
Today I am sharing some of the ones I’ve also shared elsewhere.
My novel draft is now over 30,000 words long and I am still aiming for about 85,000.
~
~
It’s going to be scary letting someone actually read it…
but in the meantime I’m enjoying the journey.
~

These are all lovely, and suit the images perfectly. Congratulations on your progress on your novel. Mine newest has now reached about 85,000 words, and I’m wrapping it up. Pretty sure it will come in below 95,000, which is good for me. (My last one was 121,000!!) But it takes what it takes, and not a word more or less. So write what you want to say in the way that works best for you. And most of all, enjoy the telling of your tale. Good luck!
Thanks so much for your comment, Marcia. Since this is my first go at a novel I’m not sure what side of the word count I’ll lean towards. I suspect 85,000 will be plenty enough for me. I am already delegating some ideas for a sequel since I’m getting attached to the characters. ❀

What am I trying for the firs time? Maybe I’m trying to join a local writing group in order to grow my writing skill set. Hopefully, I can be more effective, even more useful as a tool in the hands of a loving God…

I would love to write a mystery novel – HUGE fan of Agatha Christie! Chocolate or no, it’s a big undertaking, and I commend you for it!
It’s definitely intimidating; however, I get caught up in the character’s lives and have actually started crying or laughing. They say that if the writer doesn’t bleed – then the reader won’t either…

As always beautiful photos. And micro-poetry has its own beauty, power and delight. I am jealous though. We have had a very hard winter in Ontario and, unusual for our area, still have deep snow on our snowdrops. As before I want to pray a word of perseverance and encouragement, not just for your novel, but the micro-poetry, and the family!

These are so good. Could you tell me what type of flower is displayed with the “seeds of light” poem?
Theresa, I took this picture on a walk and I don’t know the name of the flower. It appears to be a perennial that blooms in the late summer. The way the light was shining on the seed heads begged attention. ☘
