A Path of Peace

A Path of Peace

**********************

Sometimes the path ahead seems clear

Yet other times it’s a blur

Faith marks out the parameters

but sometimes it’s details I’d prefer

~

So I seek to walk the balanced way

and move forward one day at a time

Seeking Divine wisdom as I go

and in this method His peace I find

~

Now as I ponder the way it is

that I must walk close by His side

my heart swells with the thought of Love

that counts His followers as His bride.

Our family went for an evening walk together here in Comox.

Our oldest stayed home as he wanted to do some garden work

in the coolness of the day.

Wow!

I’m blessed that he wants to help out with the landscaping.

I wrote this poem for one of my other blogs,

and it reminded me of what I like to post on greenlightlady;

I have decided to share it here instead.

I’ve missed posting here,

but I knew that I needed to take a different path for a spell.

Do you ever wish the path of life came with a GPS?

Or do you prefer unexpected adventures?

I like a mix.

  1. I was really blessed by this poem today, Wendy (and the beautiful photos)–thank you!! I would SO love a GPS–Yes!! But I realize it might impact the whole idea of “faith”, so I’ll just lean hard into HIM. God bless you BIG. love, sis Cj

    1. Thank you, Karen! I think resting seems to go against our nature – even though it is so good for us to do. Our flesh and our spirit often battle each other… mine sure do!

  2. Always glad to get a word and “picture” from you.
I have always yearned for details and itinerary. More recently I find that what I taught for years is true, if you are at peace with where you and what you are doing you are already where God wants you to be. Since I am at peace I’ll take that as a divine “Yes”. For now a “Home Sweet Home” mat will do! 🙂

    1. What a wonderful comment you have written! I have learned the hard way, very recently, to be at peace with where I am. Peace rolled in when I finally realized that God is in this life I NOW live. His presence is present in the here and now.

Your part of Canada sure has had a rough time, weather wise, this year… I hope your place came through it okay.

      1. Well, we lost most of our garden.
The corn, sugar beets and some beans are severely damaged, the tomatoes show stress, but the hay is good! I saw a big field of scallions this week which looked good, too.

    1. Thank you, Elizabeth, for sharing my enthusiasm for that artistic tree. It stopped me in my tracks; I had to run to catch up to everyone after I’d taken pictures of it.

  3. A very lovely photo and poem! I like the greens in the first photo. The blue-green of the trees, with the lighter, yellow-green of the ground vegetation. Thank you for sharing this restful post.

God bless you and yours! 🙂 Beth

  4. I’ve missed your posts, and am so glad you are sharing again here! I was talking with L today as we drove in the car about trusting God when we aren’t sure why things are the way they are. He has been struggling with our family’s move, but I am trying to listen, help, encourage, pray, and guide. We can’t see all the details, but we have seen and still see enough of our Father to know He is good and that He loves us. I pray that my dear son will keep seeking and finding that path of peace! Blessings–Alison

    1. I suspect that listening is probably the most helpful thing you are doing to help your dear son. Males tend to want our listening heart more than our words. Your godly life is speaking volumes to him already. Keep up the good work/walk, dear friend.

With my oldest son I am trying to follow this pattern; it’s so hard not to try and jump in and attempt to fix what I truly cannot. But we know the Maker of the mountains we can’t climb, and our actions point to Him. Let’s continue praying and pointing. Good work, Alison!

  5. I am so grateful to read your posts … Your words are refreshing and so often the right thing I need to hear.
I am glad to have crossed paths with you, dear Wendy!

    1. Heidi, I can most definitely same the same back to you, dear friend. You encourage me to walk closer to our Creator; you do it so beautifully with your pictures and poems. Thank you!

  6. Hey Wendy-Lee!!

    Definitely with a GPS!! Lol

Your pictures are adorable. I’m glad your posting from time to time here. 🙂

I’ve missed heaps of blogging following my move into another house. My net isn’t up and running till the 14th. My phone is driving me crazy! Lol

    Super hugs. Paula xxx

    1. I am glad you are well, dear Paula.xo When I am waiting for my turn on the computer I get withdrawal symptoms…then I know it’s time for me to go out in the garden. 🙂

  7. Beautiful words and images, dear Wendy. A breath of fresh air for my day. Bless you, dear friend. PS My WordPress appears to be working again, but I’m not sure if the comments are getting through because they just disappear from the screen. ♥

    1. My silly blog put your comment in spam. Good thing I check it regularly. It had put in someone elses too. I am so glad to be able to see your posts again, Isabella Rose. xo

        1. Would you believe this one also went into spam? I had this happen to me for a few days last winter. It was so lonely not being able to communicate normally. Hugs!

  8. So beautiful, Wendy… both the poem and the photos. So moving, and I love the adventure, but it’s also very good to know God’s boundaries, and the ones that He’s placed around me too.

    Many blessings, my friend!

    Love,
    Cheryl

    1. I agree, Cheryl, that his boundaries are good – very good! Some of the examples in the Bible of what happens when we ignore them are always motivating to keep in mind.

      Warm wishes ~ Wendy xo

  9. Lovely photos – as always, Wendy 🙂

I don’t use GPS – not even when driving in strange countries. Yes, I like to get lost and find my way back. With GPS, much escapes the eyes, I reckon.

And you know what I mean 🙂

    Peace,
    Eric

    1. Yes, Eric, I know what you mean; we can miss so much when our nose is buried in technology. The miracles of the moment don’t wait for the unobservant traveler.
