instead falling rain.

The first picture of the honeysuckle I took while using a flashlight to give it some more light from the left side as it was a gloomy morning… BYO light when necessary is an idea I learned from Rick Braveheart’s blog http://thegreatamericanlandscape.wordpress.com He gives really helpful photography hints in his posts.
I think this is the first time I’ve posted black and whites. I’ve been intrigued by the ones many of you have shared – thank you for inspiring me!
Here is a fourth picture for you to write your own poem, haiku, or thoughts about in the comment box – if you’d like to. I’ll be waiting…
Hint of Spring Blessings ~ Wendy
very beautiful and serene pictures.
Thank you! I love serenity.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
The black and white is quite nice. Also think that your posts are much easier to read on the eyes when done on a white background. Or if you type in black instead of the blue or purple. Oh never mind me- your poetry is lovely. I like it very much.
I appreciate your suggestions as I have been considering some changes since another blog I follow has changed their background and I love it! But I am slow to change so we’ll see? 😉
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
Same here, I think about things a long time and then after a lot of thought I finally will get down to the nitty gritty.
Thank you for the reply, Wendy.
🙂
Afternoon dear Wendy-lee! Hope your having a great day/night? Lol
This looks sooo cold! Hugs Paula xxx
Hi Paulama! I am enjoying the great outdoors today. A long walk and then garden work (read play) has me feeling pretty good. And Ian is barbecuing ribs so that means I’m off kitchen duty til later. 🙂 It’s a holiday Monday here in BC.
I hope you are enjoying and appreciating those blue skies over there on your continent. The sun has been holding out on us… Hugs!
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Yum!! I love ribs! xxxxx
I love your black and white photos too, Wendy! Wish I could have risen to your challenge, to put a poem here, inspired by your photo–but all that came to my mind was “frozen caterpillar”! Not very good at all! God bless you–love, sis Caddo
Caddo, I love the image you came up with – ‘frozen caterpillar’. Hugs! And I love taking insect pictures… can’t wait! I am hoping for some butterflies that give me a chance to focus before they fly off. (I need some frozen ones!) 😉
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
I prefer colour but these b&w are nice too!! Sorry I can’t accept the challenge, I have absolutely no poem writing skills!!! 🙂 Hugs my friend.
Calee, your wonderful photography skills create poetry in picture form! Hugs! 🙂 I prefer color most of the time, but I do like the mood B&W makes…
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
That is such a sweet compliment! Thanks so much, Wendy!! 🙂
There is something about black and white photos that I love too, Wendy! Congratulations on getting such good ones! and matching them with wonderful haiku! I’ve got nothin’ for that last one either! But if something comes to me, I’ll be back! God bless you bunches!
Thank you, Debbie! I lost the original haiku I had written for the pictures and after I had posted these I found them. I prefer these ones. One has to be in the right mood to write!

Hello Wendy,
Lovely monochromes to capture wintry scenes. I sat and looked at your fourth image, and pondered…… and admired your Haiku’s even more, as I couldn’t even begin to follow with anything creative,
best wishes, Julian
Thank you, Julian! I admire all the work and projects that you and your wife do on your property. I garden organically, but I just dabble compared to you two. Your blog pictures are amazing…
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
Liked how you successfully captured the transition with black & white. Not many can do this.
Thank you for your encouragement! I’ve noticed some pictures actually look much better as B&W.
Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy 🙂
I must agree with that. B&W photos are sometime more dramatic. Likewise 🙂
Beautiful photos and I love your Haiku!
Thank you, Jayden! I enjoy writing them as much as I like taking pictures.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
love the photos and your Haiku…I’ve never written a Haiku…but I’m finding the words come easier to me now…so maybe soon I’ll give it a try.
Thank you, Heather! I took a while just observing others’ haiku before giving it a try. If we’re drawn to a particular style of writing then it may be a sign we want to give it a whirl?
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Wendy—wonderful B & W photos–the first one is exquisite.
Thank you, David! I didn’t notice all the water droplets on the first picture until I seen it on my computer screen. It was a pleasant surprise! Thanks for the inspiration of your B&W shots.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
Wendy, if I was still endearing snow, rain or ice…I would be growling too☺ Your black and whites are very nice.
Blessings.
Thank you, Laurie! It was a mild gray one today – perfect to be outside without woolens or sunscreen… 😉
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Mmmm – can’t wait to call this snow outdated! 🙂
Melody, at least you get more beautiful blue skies with your fluffy white flakes! 😉 But I imagine even your kind of snow gets tiresome. Spring just keeps looking better all the time.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
It HAS been beautiful – but the getting stuck and slipping around on roads and shovelling and bad highways and cold temps and storms and wondering if I can get to work is getting a LITTLE old… 😉
Hugs to you for such scary driving conditions. My hometown was snowy and icy. I remember some scary drives and slides… But you endure even more than I did in my younger days. Warm weather wishes for your province – minus the floods!
There are always trade-offs, right? I am grateful for the sun when it shines – I sure notice when there have been several days in a row without it, so I know how foggy and overcast conditions can get your spirit dragging, too…
So glad to see you tried the B&Ws! Here’s my haiku attempt:
Snow is piling up
But won’t be here much longer
Spring is coming soon!
Yours and a few others’ B&W posts inspired me! Thank you, Daisy. I LOVE your haiku!! I spotted a crocus opening today under our willow tree. 🙂 Indeed, spring is on its way!
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Great shots!!! Beautiful words!!!
Thank you, Rexlin! I love those roses you posted recently.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Gorgeous photos, Wendy. A very successful start to your monochrome adventure. I love your haiku, too. You are such an adventurous person, venturing out into the relative unknown. Well done!! I so enjoy my visits to your site. A feast for the eyes and the soul. Bless you.
Lizzie, what a treat to read your comment! I need to thank you for your influence on my B&W post as your blog has also featured them. I figure there’s no harm in trying when it comes to photography, poetry, and other creative ventures.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
love coming here for inspiration and encouragement 🙂 thanks for sharing your gift!
Thank you, Heidi, for your kind comment. 🙂
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Your black and white composition brings in a special character into the pictures. Great stuff!
Shakti
Thank you, Shakti! I’ve been intrigued and inspired by other bloggers B&W for a while.
Blessings new friend ~ Wendy 🙂
Lovely pictures 😀
Thank you! I love taking pictures of creation. 🙂

Hallo,
This is for you, for being kind for others and me, http://www.bigcards.nl/card/pickup/bc-c7cf3c10/
Sweet greetings, Summer
Thank you, Summer, for the lovely card! Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
One of my favorite photos is a black and white one I took of our eldest child at his wedding.
For your last photo, one haiku for you:
capture essence, snow
pine fingers caress their dreams
with a white blanket

Jules, thank you for the exquisite haiku! I love it!
