Drenched – Not Benched!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Drenched
Quenched
Almost drowned
Sky’s showers
coming down
Battered
Splattered
Fully soaked
Cloudy chorus
loudly spoke
Showered
Scoured
Newly cleaned
Better than
you’ve ever been!
Wendy/2012
Sometimes we just need a life storm to help us clean out the clutter in our hearts, and focus on what really matters – with a clean slate!
PS – I figured I ought to share some of the rain we’ve been having… These are photos from earlier this year.
Nice pictures and poem, Wendy! 🙂 I’m so tired of the constant rain, but it does look nice in photographs! And better rain than constant drought!!
Thank you, Calee! You are sure right about rain being better than drought! It makes mushrooms grow well, at least. 🙂
Freshly scoured – love the rhyme scheme and rhythm of this one, Wendy. And the idea behind the words is just as delicious!
Thanks, Melody! I had the soaked squash blossom in mind as I wrote. They get all dramatic looking after a summer rainstorm! Kinda like me when I run out of an ingredient in the middle of a recipe… 😉
Hi Paula! How’s your day going so far? I’m tuckering out here in Canada as it’s now after 9 pm… I had a good day. The sun came out to play, so I took some more mushroom photos since all the rain we’ve had has caused so many to grow!
I love mushrooms! It’s now 7pm and I just finished cleaning up the dinner dishes. Had a great day with my grandsons and daughter in-law…Christmas shopping! *smiling* They live in our country property so usually I only get to see them on weekends. Really lovely spending time in the city with them! ……..Paula xxx
