Morning Silhouette

Morning Silhouette

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A morning silhouette
against the murky sky
feeding on apples
that missed the pie
You’re content
upon this happenstance
as the early bird
of circumstance
Thoughts of tomorrow
never arise
while feasting upon bounty
with watchful eyes
Neither planned nor planted
and yet you reap
resting in the providence
that the Father keeps
An often misconstrued message
I can learn
that the Creator’s grace
is never earned
He bestows the gift
upon whom He wills
For his Son has already
paid the bills!
The morning that I took these pictures I was the early bird, too, as my wee dog decided that he needed to go outside earlier than usual. Having had my ears unplugged at the doctor’s office the day before, I was greeted by a very loud chorus of birds as I stepped out the door! ( that rhyme was accidental…) So I had to grab my camera.
Early Bird Blessings ~ Wendy
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or stow away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable then they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Matthew 6:26-27
  1. I like the roundness of the birds contrasted with the severe straightness of the branches…and the reminder of how God provides for all His creation. I’m glad you are able to enjoy more crispness of sound, too! Thank you, by the way, for your wise and kind reply to my other comment last night!
    1. Later in the day there was quite a flock of birds eating the apples on our neighbor’s tree.
      I can’t believe how much more I hear, now! Last night the wind and rain woke me once. It made me feel cozy and I went back to sleep.
      Thanks, too, for your kind words! I appreciate your friendship.
  2. Wow, Wendy . . I thought this poem was just so perfect, in word, in flow and in context! and then the photos! I’m sorry you had to get up so early, but not sorry about what it produced! 🙂 God bless you and thank you for the wonderful way you encourage us in Christ!
    1. And thank you, Debbie, for the gentle way that you encourage those that you visit and those that visit you!
      The fruits of the Spirit are alive & well in you!
