A New Day
~~~~~~~~~~
Face of Sun
glowing through mist
of morning fog
As dawn stirs and awakens
a slumbering soul
Gift of new day
loosely bound
in colored ribbons
shines Light
into her broken life
making it whole
Pondering cloud bow
on blue parcel of sky
She sets sleep aside
to ascend Valley Mountain
Casting off wistful thoughts
praying instead for grace
While cleansed and renewed
by the Living Water Fountain
Time to seek others
suffering along life’s lane
Lead them to the Morning Star
in anticipation
That they might walk
in newness
and wholeness again
as a new creation.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5: 17
Thank you to my husband, Ian, for letting me use his sunrise picture. He took this picture with his cellphone, as he arrived at work, one morning. I think it is great! (and so is the photographer…)
Nice poem Wendy! And compliments to Ian, the pictures are very nice! Where are they taken? I love the landscape. 🙂
Thank you, Calee! The field is an old (still working) farm that is protected for the sake of all the birds that winter there. It is in the Comox Valley. The Comox Glacier overlooks this farm. We are walking distance from this field. That is why swans etc. fly over our house… 🙂
I want to get some shots of the trumpeter swans while they are feeding. My zoom is not that good – but I will try soon,,,
I love the promise of a sunrise, and the stillness and freshness. They are indeed good reminders of the One who makes us into new creations. It’s been so long since I have lived near a hill, much less a mountain, that pictures like yours really are breathtaking! –Alison
Sometimes it is like that, isn’t it? And yet, as you have said elsewhere, no idea or word should be tossed – just reworked somehow… 🙂
Thank you, Debbie! Ian really does help me out. His vocabulary is better than mine so I always ask him to point out any misuses of words, if he notices. Sometimes we crack up laughing at my silliness…
