Eternal Embrace

Eternal Embrace

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our burdens both are lightened
as we share together in our night
 In communion our joy is heightened
No masks are worn when we meet again
Our hearts poured out and it’s alright
~
Our cares and woes both shared
as we join together our soulful pain
We lock eyes with hearts bared
Dreams and disillusionments not spared
No pride allowed to mock what we have gained
~
Our souls empowered to believe
Common faith that binds us as one
I believe in you and you in me now cleaved
We know our strength joined will not leave
We have Power on our side already won
~
Spirits sharpened as shoulders rub each day
Years passed and still our love does shine
Eternal kinship lights the path along our way
 Love’s the Lamp fueled with joy that we may stay
Oh the delights now ours and to come Divine.
I intended to write this poem about friendship;
however, it went far beyond just friends.
But aren’t the best marriages ones that are built on friendship?
A girlfriend and I took pictures in Filberg Park.
Although I took about 300 pictures – I will just show you a few…
My husband and I have been here several times.
We’ve attended craft shows and even an outdoor church service in this park.
It was so quiet when my friend and I were visiting…
that the deer were grazing peacefully.
This was the only buck we saw in the park.
There were at least five deer.
It was a pleasure to find some flowers still blooming.
I need to come here in the spring and summer on a quiet day.
A restful spot for two.
There were dozens of ducks lining the shore.
They swam away as I got closer to the beach.
I took a few pictures and backed away so they could be at peace.
Classic West Coast scenery.
Sometimes I miss the sunny days  of my semi-arid hometown.
But I would miss the sea so much more…
Years ago, my husband and I lived in a remote northern community
where sunny days were much rarer than they are here.
Coho Salmon were plentiful though.
We would catch our limit each time out.
I wish digital cameras would have been available then.
It would have been wonderful to have taken more pictures than I did.
I have a confession to make…
the reason I only took 300 at this park…
was because my camera battery died.
This park is rich with history
(never mind the natural beauty) .
The Filberg Park (nine acres) has a very intriguing story.
It was donated to be kept from development and is protected as a Heritage site.
What a blessing it is to our community.
Here is a link to it’s history: http://filberg.com/home/history/
