Unexpected blooms
Perfuming my thoughts
With springtime days
Though autumn’s not my favorite
It keeps monotony at bay
I am thankful
For little treasures
Discovered on harvest’s cooling ground
Gold, ruby, and emerald leaves
In abundance may be found
There’s no excuse
To be downcast
As branches disrobe their leaves
I will glory in their colors
Like in springtime’s blossomed trees
When temptation to grumble
Greets me
At the fork in the road
I’ll head down Thanksgiving Avenue
Following pilgrims of old
Everything
He has created
All that I can see
Including fall in its crispness
And it’s multicolored trees
Thank offerings
To nature’s Maker
With all my heart I give
For this silently spinning sphere
Formed just right, so we could live.

Blessings on our Canadian Thanksgiving Day ~ Wendy
(I confess that I prefer spring & summer… third place isn’t bad! Don’t be surprised if I post flowers in the winter.)
