~ ❀ Welcome ❀ ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m a writer, poet, and nature lover.
I also enjoy expressing myself through photography.
 Creation has a lot to say
My prose and poems are a small sampling of nature’s words.
I’m a Christian that loves reading the Bible …
so you’ll find a few Scripture verses woven into this blog.
Here’s a picture of our organic vegetable garden.
 My husband, Ian, and I can sit on a nearby bench to watch it grow.
We live in a small town on .77 acre with a 1940’s character house
that creaks and groans as much as our golden year bones do.
We share our home with our three favorite people on the planet.
Our two sons and one daughter are blessings from our Heavenly Father
after having been through 12 years of infertility.
We’re a close-knit homeschool family.
  1. Nominated you for an award before I noticed you were not accepting nominations. It’s the thought that counts, though. I love your blog. It is peaceful, uplifting. Keep up the good work. God bless. Connie
    1. Thank you, Connie, for thinking of me. I will be doing a thank you post for nominations even though I don’t participate in awards anymore. It’s my way of letting my friends know about each other. 🙂
      Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy xo
    1. Thank you for the compliment of nominating me. I do not participate in awards anymore – but I occasionally publish a thank you post for any that I receive. Congratulations on your award!
      Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
  2. Sis Wendy,
    In January, the Lord placed it on my heart to start a new blog post each month entitled “Share the Love”, where I will feature one of the blogs that I follow, and I am trusting Him to show me the blogs that HE wants me to feature each month. Last night, as I read your Call to Prayer, He spoke to my heart and told me to feature your blog on March 1. You don’t have to do anything, and this is not an award. I’m just walking in obedience to God’s Holy Spirit.
    In fact, the only thing I need you to share with me is which of all the posts you’ve written is your favorite. 🙂 I will also be highlighting my favorite posts as well. So that the news doesn’t leak before March 1, please send me a link to your favorite post at:
    cshowers@live.com
    I’m so excited about this. Last month, the Lord led me to “Share the Love” with Maria Tatham, of A Christian Imagination. And to be honest with you, with all of the recent turmoil that has gone on in my life this month, I wasn’t even sure if I would be up to writing “Share the Love” or anything else, but God had other plans, as He inspired me to highlight your blog. 😀 I so love how the Lord works in our lives! I look forward to hearing from you, my beloved sister in the Lord, and I also look forward to “Sharing the Love” with you this Friday, March 1.
    Much love and Many blessings to you,
    Cheryl
    1. Wow! Thank you, Cheryl, for wanting to share my latest post. It was a labor of love and not without oppression as I know that the enemy prefers silence and secrecy regarding the vulnerable in our society.
      Blessings dear friend and sis in Him ~ Wendy xo
      1. Of all the posts you’ve written for your blog, which is your favorite, so I can include it too? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks and much love to you, Wendy!
        Love,
        Cheryl
  3. Hi Wendy! I’m so glad you enjoyed my poem “Blessings of a New Day”…thank you for the “like”. It fills my heart with joy knowing that my poetry touches others. Also, I’ve read your blog, and love your flower and nature photos, along with your poetry. I’ll be following, and look forward to your future posts : )
    1. Hi Teresa! Thank you for your encouragement! I was so excited to find your blog. Whenever I find another Christian poet who also posts pictures I feel like I’ve found a kindred spirit. I will be following your poetry too.
      Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy xo
    1. It is so nice to meet another Canadian! Glad to meet you! Thank you for visiting my garden. You are welcome here anytime.
      Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy 🙂
  4. I am so glad you found me so I could find you. I really enjoyed your posts I visited and do believe you accomplished your purpose. Your posts created a gentle on my soul feeling and a rejoicing for all that is beautiful in creation. The only thing I missed was a lemonade as I was sitting on your bench listening to your garden grow. 🙂
  5. Great garden, Wendy! My wife would be jealous. She finally has a garden. Every year, for the 28 years we’ve been married, she’s wanted a garden. I finally contacted some friends and had them build her one – she loves it, picks vegetables for a salad every night.
    Hope you’re enjoying your break, but hurry back.
    1. What a dear husband you are to have a garden made for your wife. Blessings to you, Bill, and your lovely family.
      I am working on a post for Friday. 🙂
  6. Thanks for the follow Wendy. Your pictures make me wistful for our country cottage and 1/2 acre in England. I’ve put a slide show on my About page. We sold 8 years ago and have been wandering ever since. I’m definitely ready for a house and garden again!
    1. I noticed how lovely your old place was in those pictures. We moved from acreage to town just over three years ago, and it was painful. But we were blessed to move to this .77 acre full of character and gardens. I hope and wish the same for you to find a home sweet home that fits you both well.
        1. Try google to look up the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. We have ocean, rivers, lakes, valley, mountains and mild weather. 🙂 I think anyplace can be home if you are with the one you love. Best wishes in your home search.
  7. Thank you for visiting my blog today! I look forward to seeing many more of your beautiful nature photography and inspirations for my own garden. I will also hop over to your devotional blog now. Thanks for sharing!
    1. Sarah, I am so glad that you found my blog so that I could find yours! 🙂 I follow a lot of blogs so I hope I don’t miss catching your poems. 🙂
      Blessings ~ Wendy
          1. Great! I need to form a schedule too…your blogs got me thinking about that. Then I won’t be so overwhelmed with work, and readers can know what to expect.
    1. Thank you, Frances Gabriel for your kind words and nomination. Congratulations on your award! I no longer participate in awards; however, I appreciate the thoughtful gesture.
      Blessings ~ Wendy
      1. To update you, I didn’t realize that I had my links set up incorrectly- now when you click on my username it takes you to my photography blog (which I had originally intended, oops). Yay for being new to blogging. 🙂
  8. Thanks for liking my post! I am looking forward to reading your blog! And I have to share this because of “green light lady”… I live in Forest County, PA and we’re the only county in the State without a traffic light!
    1. Mary, thank you for returning my visit. I love your paintings! Lately I have become as interested in drawing as I am in photography. I’ve noticed that enjoying others art inspires ones own creativity too. 🙂
  9. I’d love to add an apple to your bowl. First thanks for visiting my site again. I just checked out some of your posts and found them all as lovely as the ones I’d already seen. Blessings, Natalie
    1. Natalie, I am smitten with your blog. You show us both creation and the Creator splendidly! I’ll be back – I hope you won’t tire of me. 🙂
      Blessings ~ Wendy
  10. Oh, I would never tire of you. Come as often as you like. I’d love to be notified of your new posts as well so I can visit you as well. I believe there are no accidents when it comes to people we meet. The Lord has His hands in all such meetings. Have a great week, Wendy. Blessings, Natalie
    1. Lucinda, thank you for thinking of me and this blog! Congratulations on your award. 🙂 I no longer participate in awards; however, I am honored that you nominated me.
  11. I love the organic garden, there really is no better way to regroup and unwind than spending time with nature. Thank you so much for the follow on Kerri Chronicles, I look forward to getting to know you.
    1. Thank you, Kerri! I am a stay at home mom who really appreciated that affirming post about mothering. Growing young people is even more rewarding than gardening. 🙂
      Blessings ~ Wendy
    1. Thank you, Susan! I really enjoyed seeing your paintings today. At first glance I thought ‘Pod Flowers’ was a photograph. I’ve been dabbling with watercolor pencils lately, after being so inspired by art I see on blogs.
      Blessings ~ Wendy
    1. Thank you so much for honoring me with a nomination. Congratulations on your award, Craig! Your pictures are always of such high quality since you take your time to get them right. I don’t participate in awards any longer but I always appreciate the encouragement.
  12. You are so insp-iring…..I have nominated you for an award…it is on my blog waiting for you. You truly deserve it. I’ll let it be a surprise and not tell you for what. Thanks for your beautiful work
