~ ❀ Welcome ❀ ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m a writer, poet, and nature lover.
I also enjoy expressing myself through photography.
 Creation has a lot to say
My prose and poems are a small sampling of nature’s words.
I’m a Christian that loves reading the Bible …
so you’ll find a few Scripture verses woven into this blog.
Here’s a picture of our organic vegetable garden.
 My husband, Ian, and I can sit on a nearby bench to watch it grow.
We live in a small town on .77 acre with a 1940’s character house
that creaks and groans as much as our golden year bones do.
We share our home with our three favorite people on the planet.
Our two sons and one daughter are blessings from our Heavenly Father
after having been through 12 years of infertility.
We’re a close-knit homeschool family.
    1. So glad you stopped by. I really love sharing our garden. Our daughter recently said that she loves gardening (I’ve given her a spot to putter in). That made my day! Take care, Wendy
  1. It is a privilege to connect with you here. Your thoughts about garden and God reminds me of the Garden of Eden. It makes beautiful reading. I guess you must be a wonderful human being. Keep in touch and God bless!
    1. Thank you for your encouragement. I am not a wonderful person; but, I am wonderfully and fearfully made by a God who has begun a good work in me years ago. I have Isaiah 26:12 on our fridge:
      Lord, you establish peace for us, all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
      When I forget that truth; I fall flat on my face…
      In Christ, Wendy
  2. What a lovely blog you have, and a garden to envy–so peaceful! Thank you for visiting at Caddo Veil–you’re most welcome anytime. Now I’m curious about the “I belong” badge–what it means, how does one earn it? God bless you–love, Caddo
  3. Hello Wendy, and Greetings from Wet and Windy Wales,
    Thanks for your blog’s lovely images and thoughts, and for visiting my own blog. I wonder if you’ve read the book ‘Gardening as a Sacred Art’, by Jeremy Naydler ? I think you might enjoy it…. I’ve just finished it and found it both informative and a stimulating read, BW, Julian
    1. I’ve just written the title and the author down. It sounds intriguing. Thanks! I am glad to have found your beautiful blog. Gardens always grab my attention. I’m covered in lily pollen from climbing around in mine today…my husband came home for lunch and noticed it before I did. Made him smile!
    1. Thank you, Ralph! I really have fun with my camera. Although our kids don’t like being the subject of my efforts anymore. I have to promise I won’t post them… So I guess I’ll save them up for their spouses to see one day!!
      1. I do not know whether you are talking about sons or daughters. Daughters can be good subjects if told that they look like super models and dress them up. Sons doing an activity that they are focussed on will not notice you so long as you don’t try to pose them or plonk your camera 6 inches from their nose. 😉
  6. Glad you could stop by my garden. I loved your photos. Leaves here (southern Illinois) have just begun to turn, so I see from your posts what we have to look forward to. I’m more of a spring/summer person, but who can deny the beauty of a season that makes even weeds look good?
  8. Jamie’s Poem- – By: Me- – Written on May 9th, 2011
    Dec1
    In a world of barbs and insults,
    where hurt lives with its pain,
    There comes a time for healing,
    to talk and laugh again.
    Words were sent to harm you,
    from lands with no control,
    But now it’s time for closure,
    to let the flowers grow.
    Deep down it’s all a pattern,
    repeating all the same,
    Reflections to each other,
    in make up and in name.
    When nature’s highs are highest,
    with no where else to go,
    They drop down to the lowest,
    to let the flowers grow.
    In life there are always chances,
    to do the best that’s right,
    With each beside each other,
    to receive what’s in the light.
    Give thanks to peace that’s given,
    Learn all there is to know,
    And walk carefully through the garden,
    to let the flowers grow!
    Jamie Lee
    1. Good morning from Canada, Wanda! It is very nice to meet you. My dad’s father was born and raised in Poland and came over to Canada when he was 18 years old. He married a lady of Russian descent. My dad married a lady of British descent so I am a typical “Heinz 57” Canadian! 🙂 Thank you for visiting my post and commenting.
  14. Thanks for visiting my blog & the LIKE. Looks like you have some interesting writing here. If you could install a “Recent Posts” widget it would make finding our way around your blog a lot simpler. Or add a calendar. Same process.
    Go to Appearances, click on Widgets. This will take you to the Widget page where you can click on Recent posts bar on the left side of the page. Drag it over to the right hand menu, deposit it there and hit SAVE. (or Update)
    Best wishes for great blogging in 2013!
      1. I checked the WordPress themes and don’t see the Wu Wei theme listed now, otherwise I’d have taken a look at the specs. It’s definitely not very convenient to have Recent Posts at the bottom of the page, but if that’s the best you can do…
        The bars on the Right hand side of the Widget page usually say “First widget area”, “second widget area”, etc and I can squeeze a widget in that first area even if there is no slot for it. But it’s whatever your theme allows you.
