For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD?
Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?

Once, on a drive home from church, I noticed gas prices went up again. My first thought was:
God isn’t a gouger; He’s a Giver.
He made everything. And anything we make is comprised of what He’s created. He owns everything; and yet, He saves us and shares with us.
God isn’t greedy, God is generous.
God made my mind too. The reason I get what my husband calls “the thousand word stare” is because I’m a writer. The Lord designed me to be a thinker, tinker, and writer of thoughts. And although I was once belittled for having a busy mind, God intended me to be busy writing words for and about Him.
For 2020, I have chosen beauty as my focus word of the year for my personal journal writing. Photographing creation inspires me to consider the beauty of the Lord. When I contemplate how marvelous He must be to have created such amazing things on earth, it leads me to worship God with my whole heart.

is it helps us not get bogged down and blue
about the not so beautiful stuff happening
around us and in the news

“… although I was once belittled for having a busy mind, God intended me to be busy writing words for and about Him.” YES! I, too, am a sort of ADD-type person -or EDD (Easily Distracted Disorder), and I, too, feel I am called to write about the Lord. I guess my word for this year would be FOCUS. 😉

FOCUS is an excellent word. I’m easily distracted too. It’s driven me to become a morning person, so I read and write while the rest of the world sleeps. 🙂 I also write with my curtains and blinds closed so I don’t end up photographing all the lovely birds that visit my garden. HAHA! That reminds me of staring out at the birds on our feeder and my teenaged daughter coming in and saying sternly, like a policeman making an arrest. “STOP! Mom. Move. Away. From. The Window.

Ha, ha. If I don’t hang the “Am Writing” sign on my door, my daughter lets me know if there’s an eagle in our neighborhood. I stop for eagles. 🙂

I am so glad God gave you that word of beauty, because we get to enjoy the benefits of all of that beauty too, as you share with us! What a precious thought to focus on the beauty that He has given. I am still confirming my Oneword. I am pretty sure I know what it is, but the Lord seems to be asking me to wait a little longer before I share. Thank you for bringing blessings here, dear Wendy!

Awww, Wendy, what a perfect word for you to focus on! I’m with you . . . taking time to admire creation always reminds me of God’s love for us and the amazing-ness of His creativity. I’m certain the Lord will expand your views this year as you focus on Beauty. My word for the year is PRESENT.
