If you’re curious about today’s title: Is God Happy? How Writing My Memoir Answered This Question, come and read my guest post on Kathleen Pooler’s blog. I’ll put the link at the end of this short introductory post.
I enjoy reading and writing inspirational memoir. Kathy is a blogging friend of mine who has written a poignant memoir, Ever Faithful to His Lead , and I’ll be reading it next from my T.B.R. pile of Kindle books.
Be sure to let Kathy know I sent you over. She’s a warm and wonderful hostess.
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought joy to my soul.

When my spirit is anxious
I know where to go
For only God gives joy to the heart
And solace for my soul.

My dear husband took this picture of me while we visited a local garden.

Are you a fan of inspirational memoir? Have you read one you’d like to recommend?
Wendy, I always love to see and read from your perspective on life and faith. You really are an inspiration to me. I wasn’t a writer but through my struggle I found that journaling helped me process what was happening to me. My journal listened when I was too afraid to reveal my inner most anxieties to anyone else. Keeping my journal helped me lean into my struggle and find value in what had changed in me because of it. From that journal came my memoir. Writing the book was healing for me and has in a sense revealed God’s calling in my life. I can’t wait to read your story.
(I attempted to post this comment under your piece on Kathleen Pooler’s blog but was denied for some reason)
Thank you for commenting, Gene. I noticed her blog automatically places comments in moderation first. I can relate to your words: “My journal listened when I was too afraid to reveal my inner most anxieties to anyone else.” I consider my journal a sanity saver and a prayer maker. When I don’t know what to pray, writing out my jumbled thoughts helps me formulate one. Those are often the most powerful prayers–the ones I see miraculously answered. As you already know, I loved your memoir. You wrote honestly–poignantly. I’ll be waiting in line when you have a new one ready. 🙂
Dear Wendy your posts bring so much joy to my soul…<3

Thank you, dear Debbie. I’ve missed your posts; it’s wonderful to see you blogging again. <3
A beautiful and comforting psalm, Wendy. Lovely photos and especially of you! Much love ❤
Thank you, dear Iris. <3 I always find your poetry comforting.
A lovely photo of you in a beautiful setting, Wendy. You pose a good question, so now I’ll read the answer!
Thank you, dear Cynthia. The “bird’s-eye view” I received has helped me trust for the future one concerning present circumstances.
So good, Wendy. I love the picture of you in the garden – so peaceful, just the feeling I get when I read your posts and look at your photographs.
Bill, that’s the same feeling I hope is granted to readers if or when I publish a book. My goal is to invite the Spirit to write, edit, and revise my manuscripts alongside me. He’s the Hero of the best stories ever written. 🙂
Great thanks
Thank you, Laleh.
Beautiful picture of you in garden. Thanks. I read Etta Jamison’s memoir. She taught dance for 50 years in Kennewick, Washington State, trusting her strength to God.
Inspirational memoir are my favorite. Thank you for stopping by, dear Cheryl. 🙂
