The Birds of the Air: A Reminder of God’s Love for You

On our way to go Christmas shopping, the traffic was so slow I was able to roll down my window and click this shot of a bald eagle. He seemed oblivious to the stress and strain of shoppers clogging up the roads.

God has a storehouse of peace for us, too, if we’ll tap into it.

The best gift we can give to others isn’t found in a shop—it’s found in the Christ of Christmas.

Look at the birds of the air;

they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,

and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not much more valuable than they?

Matthew 6:26 NIV

In Christ

May our souls rise

on the hope

found in Christ

As we soar

above the worries

and trials of life

May our hearts

beat with confidence

found in Christ

As we fly

into the horizon

of eternal life.

On my other blog, I’ve shared some winter wonderland pictures from my home and garden. Here’s the link where you will also find a link to my latest podcast: What’s the Best Christmas Gift We Can Give?

Merry Christmas, dear friends. Will you be travelling during the holidays? Where will you be celebrating—at home? I’m nosy-to-know. My family of five will be staying—burrowed-like-bunnies–right where we are.

  1. Love this. The reminder of His peace in the midst of a very busy world is just what I need. We will go to see the kids’ Christmas Eve play and then to Joe’s very large family gathering Christmas afternoon. A mix of excitement and nerves always with all that. But, I will keep finding the moments to find His peace. 🙂 I hope you and yours have a very blessed Christmas!

    1. Keith, “blessed beyond measure!” sounds wonderful. May that continue for you through 2017 and beyond. God is good no matter what’s going on–isn’t He? Merry Christmas. I’m enjoying dipping into your devotional book via my Kindle…I’m a slow but sure reader.

  2. Amen! Beautiful! Merry Christmas to you! We’ll be spending the day with our close-by daughter and family. SC son’s family coming Tuesday. Missing SD son’s family as this is the first Christmas apart!
