The Covering
~~~~~~~~~~~~
None has earned or deserved
Your whitening grace which covers all
Each heart given the freedom
to heed or ignore this Mercy call
~
From Heaven’s storehouse
a blanket upon us all descends
May we embrace this Gift
not turn our backs in vain offense
~
The power of Love can conquer all
None so vile that stains remain
Let not pride hinder its work
that we might join in His refrain
~
He delights not in the death of lost
but in the faith that trusts His Love
for He will share all that is His
with those covered by Christ’s own blood.
During my break it snowed in my garden.
~
~
Oh, how glorious is the first snowfall!
~
~
It covered our entire town; everyone from all walks of life was covered in its purity.
~
~
God’s grace is also offered to all.
~
~
We are never bad enough not to receive it nor good enough not to need it.
~
~
We are truly equal.
~
~
I need to confess that I grumbled
when I first woke up on this cold and snowy morning…
“Why would anyone want to live so far from the equator?”
~
~
I made a miraculous recovery in my attitude;
my dear husband brought me a hot coffee.
~
~
Later, I bundled up in wool and went outside to take some pictures.
~
~
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5
Christmas Blessings to all of you ~ Wendy
PS – We’ve just had our second big snowfall…
I love taking snow pictures!
~
So very lovely. Thank you, Wendy.
Beautiful! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
This is a beautiful post Wendy with a gorgeous poem and the most wonderful photos! I love the one through the gate. I love entrances and pathways!
I love your expression, “bundle up”. We say “wrap up” here in the UK. And I believe in Australia they say “rug up” 😊
I hope you have a joyous Christmas and a peaceful and contented year to follow.
Beautiful poem and photographs, Wendy! My daughter returned to balmy Texas yesterday from a three day trip to Canada (Calgary) and she loved it there.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Happy holidays sweet Wendy~ Hugs from Calee
Lovely message and lovely photos. Merry Christmas to you too, Wendy. Blessings, Natalie 🙂
Beautiful pictures, indeed! I wish we got more snow here in Texas. Instead, we usually just get ice.
And a very merry xmas to you too Wendy! I love snow, (must be crazy!) for all the reasons you mention, it’s cleansing and its purity. Beautiful pictures!
Lovely Wendy, especially the top one and pic of your house
Gorgeous, splendid winter photos–and beautiful words of Faith. I’m so thankful for His Covering today, as I always need it!! We had our first snow during the night–but now it’s raining a bit, turning everything to mush that will likely freeze tonight. Not good. God bless you and your lovely family with His abundant grace and favor–for Christmas and the New Year! love, sis Caddo
God Bless you Wendy! Love the pictures, and how wonderful that your husband brought you coffee. I love when my husband does nice things for me, it just makes the world a little brighter:) Merry Christmas!
Wendy … you are truly blessed … your poetry … the inspiration you share … your love for others … and being able to step outside and see what you see …. simply stunning. Thank you so much for sharing xxxx
I love all of these, but especially the light through the window. Merry Christmas, Wendy!!! May God bless you and your family throughout the coming New Year, too! 🙂
Dear Wendy…this is just lovely…:-)
Merry Christmas to you and your family…:-)
take care
I love seeing the snow as His grace, Wendy! So thankful that it can cover me. You had me giggling about who would live so far from the equator! 😀 Beautiful post and photos . ..from a beautiful grace-filled woman of God. thank you and God bless you and yours this Christmas and always!
Merry Christmas to you too. The snow looks beautiful in your photos.
awesome beauty…these photographs ‘sing’! 🙂
Glad you came out of hibernation and posted this – nice. Any husband who gives his wife a hot cup of coffee on a cold winter morning is a smart man indeed. Also, thanks for “liking” one of my posts. May you and your family have a blessed and Merry Christmas.
These are such beautiful pictures! What a sweet reminder of His grace, so freely shown to all! Wishing you a wonderful, reflective and warm Christmas. Blessings to you!
I still like the snow – and winter. Yet the big winter storm here in Ontario with all the ice has cancelled our family Christmas. Bummer! But, one can’t argue the beauty of winter and snow, which you have captured in your photos. And I make the coffee here…
Peace
Absolutely beautiful. Pristine snow is so attractive. Merry Christmas to you. May your holiday be filled with peace and love.
Nature at its best. Beautiful and inspirational! Many thanks a very happy Christmas 🙂
Where would we be without HIM? Your cottage image…quaint and so perfectly quiet♥
Wendy I’ve yet to read anything that you write and capture in images that shouldn’t be published ~ I read your praise to The Child and the impeccable beauty of the snow white celestial celebration and can’t help but think, that from autumn ashes come winter-fires~ God bless your child-like curiosity and appreciation for all The Child surrounds you with, especially His love through others –like mine. Merry Christmas dearest ~Faithfully Debbie
Gorgeous photos, Wendy! And your thoughts mimic my own when I wake up to the cold. If only the sun might give us a little blessing, it might be a touch more bearable. 🙂
Wishing you and your family a bright and beautiful Christmas full of joy and peace. Hope you didn’t suffer too much in the recent ice storm. It was brutal in our region.
HI WENDY,
BEAUTIFUL BLOG YOU HAVE HERE. ALL YOUR PHOTOS ARE BEAUTIFUL. LOVE THE ICE CASCADING FROM THE BRANCH. ALSO LOVE
Wendy, another delightful posting. You are a master at feeding the hungry soul that resides within.
Thank you, dear Sheri, for your generous praise.
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. . .
