Sometimes in life we must invest our whole being into a task.
It may involve risk; we may tumble.

There’s beauty to be found in the unexpected, if we seek for it.
Life is a mix of pain and pleasure; sweet and sour complement one another.

What is purity of heart?
To do the right thing for the right reason?
Love is a discipline; it’s a choice that we make.

Boldness may be required to protect someone we love.
We may need to use it for our own safety too.

When I no longer smile at flowers, it will be because my smile has become perpetual.
Perennial flowers are my best friends in the garden.
Wildflowers are the fairies in the woods who smile back at me.

This fellow landed on the thistle just as I was photographing it.
A pleasant surprise!
I love visiting the woods.

I’ve shared with you the wildflowers that my son and I came across along Brown’s River.
You may read about that hike in the previous post.

Beautiful pictures and words, Wendy!
“truth with love is good

So well put.
Thank you, Bill! When the drapes of denial are drawn open, it lets in the light of his Truth and Love.
I love the thought of the perpetual smile. Beautiful pictures and thoughts!
Thank you, Dee! Perpetual smiles will abide in paradise.
Wendy, I love them all. Each could have been a post all its own. thanks!
Thank you, Sue! I have craved to write haibuns after reading ones others have done…
🙂
1 and 3 are just breath taking 🙂
Beautiful Creation = Beautiful Creator 😉
JC
Thank you, JC! Beautiful Creator indeed. 🙂
It’s the contrasts in life that give depth and sometimes startling clarity. Loved the photography and loved the words. Beautiful.
Thank you, and I agree that the valleys in life can be used for good.
Wendy, these were so special. The one about being bold, gave me pause and courage. And I loved the last one too, thinking of you gathering peace like flowers, bouquets of joy! Thank you and God bless you!!!
Thank you, Debbie! Being bold is natural for parents to do in protecting their children, but not always in protecting themselves; yet, they set a good example to the little ones to also take care of oneself.
Lots of pretties!
Thank you! 🙂
Another lovely treat for the eyes and the mind,, Wendy.
This resonated for me – “When I no longer smile at flowers, it will be because my smile has become perpetual.”
All good wishes,
Eric
Thank you, Eric! I enjoy reading such kind comments, as yours, as I do in discovering wildflowers – both make me smile. 🙂
Oh Wendy, Such a lovely post. Your photography is stunning as are the words you’ve written to accompany them. Beautiful… XO
Thank you, Linda! That means a lot to me. 🙂
so very beautiful, Wendy, in words and in photos. I love your work..
groetjes, Francina
Thank you, dear Francina! 🙂
A lot of wisdom and beauty here. 🙂 what a treat. 🙂
Thank you, Geraldine! 🙂
How kind and generous you are to share these lovely photos and thoughtful words.
Thank you! I am not generous – I’m just doing what I love… creating. 🙂
What a beautiful and inspirational post, and wonderful photographs to boot!
Thank you, Becky! I hope your weekend was lovely.
What a splendid selection of beautiful flowers, within a prose/poetry setting. You have created a very special bouquet here, Wendy. I love it!
Thank you, Mary! I always appreciate your visits and kind words.
The gorgeous thistle…sigh. Not too many of these in our parts in the south. You poem definitely spoke to me…my husband and I are definitely taking a risk right now in our plans for the future.
Laurie, I don’t think that we’ve ever regretted taking a well thought out risk. It is stressful; however, it is better to make your heat pound then to let it languish from giving into fear. Blessings on you two as you walk boldly & wisely into the future.
stunning pictures with wonderful verse. Especially love your firs shot! Bees are becoming scarce and I just love to see them.
Thank you! I agree about the bees;it is not spring until I see my first bee. Slowly I am planting more and more flowers…
beautiful pictures…and amazing verse…” walking in the wood…”
“on a woodland walk…”
just love them..Thank you so much for sharing this wendy..:-)
Take care
sriram
Thank you, Sriram! I am happy to share our part of Canada with others. 🙂
I had to look up haibun! Beautiful and profound – you have a way of letting the flowers speak and then telling us what they say! I know that sounds strange, but I think you will know what I mean, dear kindred spirit! And to God be all the glory! Thank you!
Thank you, Wanda! I agree that creation speaks with a gentle voice granted to it by the Creator. May we always be mindful of our need to praise God so that the rocks won’t sing alone…for we are without excuse.
I love the photo’s of the flowers and the catepilar
Thank you! It has been a good year for photographing them.
I am so envious of your Queen Ann Lace photo. I adore them and have never been able to capture their beauty the way you have. 🙂
Thank you, Elizabeth! I have had a lot of flops in my attempts to photograph these… keep trying. 🙂
Stunning beautiful, each photo each Ku has its own beauty and together they make such a joyous and delightful read , dear Wendy! Thank you so much for sharing these gorgeous Haibun’s. I love every one of them.
groetjes, Francina
