By My Side
*************************
I walk this path of life in peace
each step upon this trail I take
keeping to worn ways of Truth
I follow Him whom all has made
~
For when I look about the trail
and see some others no longer there
my heart may start to ponder this
but I recall the One who cares
~
As long as He is by my side
and I abide within His will
I move along this way unmarred
His love within bids me be still
~
For He is love in all He does
and leaving’s not his way with me
Once He’s led me into his Light
I belong to him eternally.

People come and go in our lives; yet, stability is often what we crave.

Our Creator God has a love for us unmatched by any other lover.

He is stability to the utmost.

He is the Lover of my soul and my eternal Hope.

Whom then shall I fear?

I am sharing with you the hike my husband and I took at Paradise Meadows in July.
~
~
We’ve been here several times before…
~
~
yet each time I see new treasures.
~
~
Believe it or not – I am only showing you a small portion of all that I photographed…

Next week I will do a shorter post featuring the wildflowers I enjoyed at this alpine park.
~
~
This tree knows how to grow a mossy beard…
~
~
I couldn’t get over how enormous this rock was that I was standing on; it overlooked the lake we had lunch beside.
~
~
There is no shortage of water up in this meadow.
So serene and green…
~
~
It was not hot on our hike; however, this fungus seems to think otherwise.
~
~
Feathered spectators don’t make me nervous.
Our island is the cougar capital of the world.
I have only seen two in my 25 years here; that’s enough for me!

Grow where you are planted?

Just four more pictures to go for those of you still scrolling this post…
~
~
This is a much easier hike than the previous one I posted.

Calm and cool.

Still and silent simplicity.

Water of Life Blessings ~ Wendy
*Did you find a picture here that especially spoke to you? *

As I did some last minute editing of this post, I was kept company by my little dog who is usually beside me on the den sofa. I am more appreciative than usual for his company as he was away for two days at the animal hospital. He was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. It’s been a rough week for him and our family. You don’t realize just how much you really care about someone until you almost lose them. His recovery is slow. I cried with joy yesterday when he walked to the water dish on his own to get a big drink. The only more stressful thing I can imagine is if it were one of my kids that were this sick… or my handsome hubby. Give your loved ones an extra hug!

Thank you, Jonathan!
Lovely photos. I enjoyed each and every one. I do wish your little puppy get well wishes;)
Thank you for your kind words! 🙂
You are so welcome
“grow where you’re planted.” There’s a Columbine growing in the sidewalk out by the street, a long ways from where the rest of them are growing at the side of the house. I’ve thought of taking a picture of it with the title you used for your picture. You beat me to it! 🙂 Beautiful photos, as usual.
Thank you, Clarence. I think your idea is great! Columbines are so lovely too. 🙂
Paradise Meadows indeed! What a gorgeous place…
Melody, it’s so fresh and clean too!
A true gem. A place to recharge when life grinds our gears, that’s for sure. We had a family fire tonight, and are pleasantly sticky from marshmallows. That recharges my batteries, I can tell you!
Beautiful images and words.
Thank you, Don! 🙂
I’m at awe Dear! Your photography and praising poetry are matchless ! I keep walking your trail and feel the sacredness of your spirit ! Glorious !
Debbie, I love this park… thank you for enjoying it with me and thank you for your comment. Blessings!
I took a long time savoring this lovely hike you’ve shared. I especially love your capture of the water in the last post, though there were many that caught my eye. All the best to your dear little dog and to your family.
Thank you, Sheri! My husband suggested I take that water shot. My little dog is definitely making progress in his recovery. 🙂
Glad to hear it! Best–sjk

take care
Sriram
Thank you, Sriram! The pictures inspire me to write the poem. 😉
Still catching up in the blog world…praise God for His creation! What a beautiful world! I’ve told you before that your pictures remind me of my childhood in New England, hiking in green forests with mountains and rocks and streams…stunning in equal but different ways from the scenery I enjoy now in south Florida. I pray for your sweet dog. Our cat is 14, doing well, but I know he’s an old fellow…it means a lot to me when he snuggles and plays!
After thinking about the pictures, I especially liked the “grow where you are planted” one. Having just moved, and having so much *new* in our family’s lives, it is a reminder to be faithful and obedient and ready, wherever God calls us! Blessings–Alison

Thank you for your prayers, Alison! Our dog is almost back to normal and is so happy to be at home. He keeps his eyes on me as he does not want to be deserted at the vet again. The ladies at the clinic adored him, since he is so cuddly. 🙂
