Hearth of Home
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hearth of home
A shelter from shattered shards of ice
A place of restful repose and reflection
where strength is supped
before sent back out
into heart hardening harshness
But even glaciers have melting tips
that soften and slip with others
into peopled pool of humanity
May we don Grace’s garments
as we seek the drops of Divinity in others
who walk along frigid freeways
in search of summer
For we have a common Creator
whose desire is to restore and reunite
that which was broken and banished
Winter will wear away
when spring sings its wedding song
welcoming summer’s bride
as she walks the aisle
of the garden
once frozen.
Homeward Bound Blessings ~ Wendy
This poem was inspired by the warmth of the late afternoon sun shining through the trees onto our home. We don’t see much of the sun in the wintertime.
