Desire’s Song
****************
Desire is not met in luxuries
nor in exotic travels to foreign lands
but by companionship of kindred hearts
between one woman and one man
~
No castle needed with a moat
for safety of their love to thrive
but by commitment of their goodwill
between them both while they’re alive
~
No crown of jewels to flaunt about
such eyes do sparkle far beyond
but by much care and attentiveness
between their lips a lover’s song.

My husband and I love checking out all of our local parks.
This one is in a prestigious neighborhood.

After I had this poem written and the pictures in place,
I wasn’t sure what I was going to say – until…
~
~
My husband mentioned a wealthy couple he did some work for in this area.
~
~
He told me about their home (castle) and the big toys with it.
~
~
His tone was not one of envy.
~
~
My husband said that he noticed a distinct sadness in the wife’s eyes.
~
~
There was something missing in the castle.
~
~
I suspect it is the Presence of the risen King that is missing.

Our humble (and adorable) home needs a new kitchen floor, thermal windows, and a bigger fridge;
we have three teenagers.
~
~
But our home is full of his Presence.
It is a home with love and prayers.
Grace abounds and joy regularly visits.
~
~
The next time I notice the cracked kitchen floor…
~
~
I’m going to say, “Thank you, Lord, for your Presence; thank you for this castle of love!”
