I thought that you might appreciate a break from winter, and so I’ve posted these photos from one of the Saturday morning outings Ian and I took last summer… Our thirtieth wedding anniversary is coming up in August. Time flies when you’re having fun! Well – most of the time… 😉

I love these pictures, and the words that bring them to life! As for my favorites…I loved having periwinkle hydrangeas in my wedding bouquet (we also have a summer anniversary, and this will be our 12th!), I also like lilies a lot. Bright, vibrant, tropical colors always make me smile! I made up a haiku while at a red light this afternoon, but I don’t know if I’ll remember it well enough to post it…I’m glad I got to read yours! Oh Wendy, this was a wonderful break. When I saw the email with your post, featuring the gorgeous pink whatever it is (I’m terrible with names… people names & flower names :D), I just had to come and see! Both the flowers and the haiku’s were beautiful.
As for my favorites, the truth is if I had a favorite, I probably still wouldn’t know what it’s called… although I do love bleeding hearts… I love you too, my friend!

Caddo, I think I may need to round up some more flowers soon – we’ve had no sun for almost two weeks and I need the colors to brighten things up… It does make it seem extra cozy in the house with all those “pewter” skies outside! Hugs!

So refreshing to see these soft and bright colors and remember the scent of summer! I love irises, especially the light lavender colored ones that have the most delicious spicy-sweet smell. Orchids and lilies delight me with their structures and forms. But my very favorites are wildflowers…so whimsical and adding a surprise of color around every turn.

Just remembered my columbines…a definite favorite. There were some wild in my yard and I’ve collected my seeds and traded with other friends here that did the same, so now I have many colors popping up all over my yard.
