I thought that you might appreciate a break from winter, and so I’ve posted these photos from one of the Saturday morning outings Ian and I took last summer… Our thirtieth wedding anniversary is coming up in August. Time flies when you’re having fun! Well – most of the time… 😉

I love fragrant flowers. What is your favorite type?

What a beautiful post – I’m a girl who loves Daisies, snap dragons, roses, lilies …..I don’t think I have a favorite – I love them all!

You made me smile, Daisy! Hugs! What I love about daisies is that they last so long in the garden or in a vase. They are lovely troopers.

I love these pictures, and the words that bring them to life! As for my favorites…I loved having periwinkle hydrangeas in my wedding bouquet (we also have a summer anniversary, and this will be our 12th!), I also like lilies a lot. Bright, vibrant, tropical colors always make me smile! I made up a haiku while at a red light this afternoon, but I don’t know if I’ll remember it well enough to post it…I’m glad I got to read yours! Blessings–Alison

I love picturing you sitting at a red light composing a haiku! My purse now holds a notebook and pen at all times for those impromptu poems. I hope to read some of yours on your blog…
Periwinkle hydrangea sounds very lovely! I love hydrangea and even brought some cuttings with me from the old place.

All right, one little poem has been added to my blog about the palm tree. I have been so slow in writing these days, but not for lack of material. I hope, when the dust settles a bit, to write about our latest family adventures and steps of faith. Have a lovely afternoon! –Alison

Oh Wendy, this was a wonderful break. When I saw the email with your post, featuring the gorgeous pink whatever it is (I’m terrible with names… people names & flower names :D), I just had to come and see! Both the flowers and the haiku’s were beautiful.
As for my favorites, the truth is if I had a favorite, I probably still wouldn’t know what it’s called… although I do love bleeding hearts… I love you too, my friend!
Many blessings,
Cheryl

Cheryl, I get caught not knowing names of plants in my own garden! 🙂 Hugs & love to you! I know a lot of them because I worked in a garden store and I read garden magazines and books – but I still get forgetful. We have a little bit of bleeding heart that I hope to photograph this year.

So refreshing to see these soft and bright colors and remember the scent of summer! I love irises, especially the light lavender colored ones that have the most delicious spicy-sweet smell. Orchids and lilies delight me with their structures and forms. But my very favorites are wildflowers…so whimsical and adding a surprise of color around every turn.
