Wildflowers in Paradise Meadows

With gracious compassion

the Lord reached down to me

and robed in the richest Love

He pulled me from the sea

Wildflowers remind me of our Heavenly Father. They were designed by him, and I believe He knew how much we’d enjoy them.

God was also there when we were formed inside our mother’s womb, so He would know all about the abundance of love or lack of it we may have experienced in childhood. He was there.

Some children grew up into adults who find it hard to imagine a God who is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

Maybe they had a difficult childhood where  adults in their life were too emotionally sick or mentally ill to express consistent godly love. Maybe those people were too broken to nurture wholeness in their offspring.

And then along came God, through people who had already tasted of his Divine Love, and bestowed blessings on the battered hearts of those in need of true abundance.

And maybe when they read Psalm 145:8, their hearts overflowed with joy, and their eyes welled up with tears of gratefulness because they knew all along, deep down inside, something was missing. And they found out God was there too.

Whatever our past may have been like, we need to believe God can use all of it for good—even the parts of it that were less than good.

But God.

I’ve heard some powerful testimonies over the years of bruised souls being rescued by the Father of Light. These same people have gone back and shone this Light over those who’d hurt them.

It may have to be done from a safe distance, or not.

But prayers of blessing can travel far.

…gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

These wildflowers are from a hike Ian and I took up to Paradise Meadows this summer. It was one of those ‘perfect’ days in between the not-so-perfect days of regular living. It was a taste of heaven, the Heaven our gracious and compassionate Lord has gone to prepare for those who love Him.

Rich in Love Blessings ~ Wendy

Do you have a special verse, quote, or song that speaks to you of rich love?

I’d love to hear it.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate,

slow to anger and rich in love.
