Heaven is Near

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Heaven Is Near

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I gaze at stars and see Your smile
Your eyes that sparkle all the while
For I am Yours and You are mine
So soon we’ll toast with wedding wine
~
In dreams I see Your perfect face
So filled with love and purest grace
There is no one that I desire
More than You with holy fire
~
For what mere men can satisfy
Eternal souls that cannot die?
For soon their patience wears too thin
But not with You who knew no sin
~
So while I live and dream of You
Give me the strength to follow truth
That I may seek eternity
Where You embrace all those set free.
This poem is dedicated to Deborah.
(She passed from her earthly body on January 15, 2014
 according to another tribute that I read.)
 I searched back to read her latest comments on my own blog.
She was a poet and an angel of encouragement.
If you read the excerpt below,
you will see that we talked about heaven one week before her death.
Deborah was one of the reasons I was so excited to post
my nature pictures.
She was unable to get out and about
because of her illness.
I delight to share creation with all of you
and especially with those who rarely get out into it.
~
I will miss you, dear angel poet. ❤
I HAVE A VOICE
Poets are picked by different prodigious reasons and capacities and talent… you possess such abilities to bring the soul to it’s fullest potential — that’s what I experience when I read and connect your photographs to your writing ~ Wendy, do publish! Faithfully Debbie
Thank you for receiving and blessing my words, Debbie. It is my reading and believing of the Written Word that pulses through my writing veins. It seems that all my poetry roads lead to Heaven; this life appears briefer with each New Year’s Eve that passes. Blessings for your 2014 & beyond. xo
I HAVE A VOICE
You’re absolutely right Wendy! I wasn’t to supposed to love beyond 14! Here I lay, 53 yrs old, every year has passed me so much quicker, especially when I acknowledge that so many loved ones have left this sphere before me. Heaven is right here– like Emily wrote: Earth is crammed with heaven.” Your soul is drippring out heaven! Faithfully ~Debbie
Debbie, your comment reminds me of a recent blog post of one of my favorite Christian bloggers, Bill. I don’t know if you have ever read his blog. He, like me, is a born-again Christian who follows Jesus; he is an awesome inspiration. He speaks of his own diagnosis of ALS here: http://unshakablehope.wordpress.com/2013/12/06/thankful/
Let me know what you think dear poet friend. xo
Rest in peace,  sweet poet angel.
Deborah did not get to hear that I am going to try to have something of mine published…
NOVEL UPDATE:
******************
The first draft of the novel I’m working on is now at over 20,000 words…
 only 65,000 more to go (and editing).
The characters have been taking me on an emotional roller coaster ride.
I’m learning as much as they are about how unpredictable life can be.
A book is only one page at a time;
life is only one day at a time.
We can do this journey.
