I love spring and summer; therefore it only makes sense I was inspired to write a Dear God summer poem. These two seasons remind me of what I believe Heaven will be like. We fade like lilies, but God doesn’t and nor will our forever home. Today I wanted to share a bit of my garden with you.
Dear God
I adore how beautiful
the glimpses I get of You
through the fragrance of sweet summer
and by the rainbow of her blooms
~
I adore how lovely
the glimpses I get of You
through the birdsong in my garden
and by the flouncy flowers too.

But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
Hebrews 1:12 NIV
I brought a section of an old hydrangea from our previous home and planted it in the new garden. Do you have special memory plants too?
This is a volunteer rose. She ain’t fragrant. But she’s reliable. Her way of doing it is better than some other rose’s way of not doing it. This is wisdom we would be wise to heed too. Don’t let the naysayers uproot you.
Speaking of volunteers. I love the way the pink mallows go with the purple butterfly bush.
This volunteer rose is as fragrant as she is beautiful. I had to advocate for her a couple of times when others suggested I remove her from blocking the garden shed entrance. As you can see, the rose and I won.
This is a Westerland rose my husband surprised me with a couple of years ago. We’ve had one before. We love the changing colors, second bloom time, and oh so sweet fragrance. She’s the queen.
I’m nosy-to-know what your favorite verse about heaven is?
