Prayer for the Discouraged

Prayer for the Discouraged Wendy L. Macdonald This is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight. Philippians 1:9

off the ice-covered park bench
hope flows in my veins
as I pray for a spring thaw
in those who are discouraged

When praying for others, remember to commit them to the Lord. Don’t carry everyone on your shoulders–commit instead of carry. I wrote about it here: Battling Anxiety: Commit Instead of Carry

And I podcasted about it here:  Walking With Hope

  1. I just posted about Moses’ prayer when God didn’t seem to deliver on his promises. Among my favorite prayers for the discouraged are Acts 4:23-31 and Psalm 17.Thank you for another uplifting post.

  2. Thank you, Wendy, for these words of comfort and reassurance and for the reminder that it is not my job to carry other peoples’ burdens. Instead, I can commit my cares and concerns for others to the Lord. Blessings, Wendy, and Amen.

    1. Thank you, dear Sharon, for stopping by. My husband and I were just talking this morning about the importance of committing and not carrying our loved ones. Such a small step makes a huge difference. xo Blessings.
