In My Garden
In my garden are treasures
of timeless beauty from above
where the Gardener bids me linger
as He showers me with Love
~
In my garden is a Tree
that offers healing fruit
where I often come to taste
of His Wisdom and His Truth
~
In my garden is a choir
of birds and angels who sing
reminding me it’s all about Grace
and there’s nothing I need bring
~
In my garden I meet the Savior
Who is eternally mine
and I’m embraced by nail-scarred hands
of purist Love Divine.

My garden is the first place I go to when I hear overwhelming news of goodness or grief.
After my dad died back in November of 1998, I went into my winter garden and prayed to my Heavenly Father and talked to my dad.
I’m not saying that my dad could hear me, but my Father heard me.

My cozy woman cave, in our attic, is the garden I go to each morning. The walls have stenciled wisteria vines on it that the dear previous owner painted. The small cot is covered in floral quilts my mother and I have made. And the nature art portfolios of mine grace the desk as a reminder for me to spend more time in creative pursuits according to what the Creator has gifted me.
I need my time with the Gardener of my heart. It’s the place where I invite Him to weed out the negative beliefs and behavior that can choke healthy growth and fruitfulness. It’s the place where I confess and am blessed by forgiveness.
~ It’s a harvest of love, joy and peace. ~

Where’s your favorite place to meet with the Keeper of your soul?
Blessings from my garden ~ Wendy
Have you visited my Writing Room yet? You’re invited anytime you have a moment or two. Just click on the link here or on the sidebar.
You’re invited to visit the post I did earlier this week on my other blog.
Here’s the link: Ode to Autumn
Very early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
Jesus got up,
left the house
and went off to a solitary place,
where he prayed.

I am so glad you shared this. I relate to so much that you share.
Hugs and Blessings,

I appreciate your blog posts and comments, dear Theresa. Thank you. xo
“The Gardener of your heart” … that’s beautiful, Wendy.
It’s a full-time gardening position due to the proliferation of weeds. 😉 Thank you, dear Shelli. I couldn’t resist my comment reply–it’s been one of those weeks. xo
Such beauties!
I love birds. xo
Me too ❤️
I love to step into your little garden with you! Love your words and pics, thanks for sharing 😀
Thank you, I enjoyed my visit to your garden too. Today I only spotted the Stellar’s Jay in mine. He keeps his distance, but I can hear him.
It is wonderful keeping up with new visitors. Yesterday I saw the tree creeper had returned and a curious gold crest came to investigate my gardening technique! 😀
Birds were elusive in my garden today, but I did get to observe a wild rabbit who thinks our place is the Black Bunny Bed & Breakfast.
We haven’t seen our recently but someone has nibbled the pinks! 🐰
Beautiful! I like to go to the beach and listen to the waves, or take a hike through a forest. It’s easier to hear Him in His creation, isn’t it?
Yes, Jebraun, “It’s easier to hear Him in His creation.” He’s a wonderful Artist and the woods and ocean make me long to know Him more and more.
I love that poem – so beautiful Wendy! <3
Diana xo
Thank you, dear Diana. I always love your quotes. xo Blessings on your weekend.
What beautiful treasures your posts are…Wendy. Thank you. God Bless ~ Janette 🙂
Thank you, dear Janette. I’m so glad to have captured these birds to share here.
I love birds…thanks again…enjoy your weekend. 🙂
Thank you, Wendy. I rarely let my feet hit the floor in the morning without pulling my Bible and notebook into bed with me. When in crisis it became a necessity. Funny how trials bring us where we need to be.
Dear Karen, so true about “how trials bring us where we need to be.” It’s the one for sure good thing about them. I’m thankful for the dark place that drove me into His marvelous Light, so many years ago.
Pure excellence, my friend. I absolutely love this one and would love to have reblogged it, but I don’t see an option for that! I retreat to my garden and my studio I call Nataieworld for the same reasons, and it’s so nice to have a place like that. Love and hugs, my friend. 🙂 <3 xoxox
Thank you, dear Natalie. xo I’ve been wondering why my reblog button isn’t visible, as my settings are set to allow it. I’ll have to Google that question and do some tinkering when I’m feeling adventurous. Tech stuff is not for the faint of heart (me). 😉 Hugs.
Wendy:
Love, Love, Love this post. Your garden is wonderful and full of the good things of the Lord! I love what you said “In my garden is a Tree that offers healing fruit where I often come to taste of His Wisdom and His Truth.” It’s good to have a place to go to sit alone with Jesus and to let the Holy Spirit comfort our hearts. Your birds are awesome in these pics. Beautiful! In my morning devotion I read in Psalm 84: 3-4 : “Even the sparrow has found a home, and the sallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young – a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.”
Bless you my friend,
~Zoey
Thank you, dear Zoey. I think the main reason I like birds so much, besides their beauty, is because they remind me of our Father’s caring heart. He designed them so intricately and continues to watch them and us.
Wendy, your poem is beautiful. It touched my heart as did those close-up birdie photos. Thanks for sharing. My favorite place to spend time with my Father (when it’s warm) is on my deck overlooking the river.
Tracy, your special place to spend time with Him sounds heavenly. I imagine you both see and hear the river–so lovely. Blessings on your weekend. I prayed this morning that the new PM would read and respond to your thoughtful letter.
Your prayers are much appreciated, Wendy. 🙂
How pretty.
Thank you, dear Laura.
You’re welcome Wendy. 🙂
Looks like a birds paradise Wendy, such gorgeous captures.
I enjoy feathered visitors to my garden, Kath. But they sure make me work for the pictures by taking off if I so much as wink. Thank you, friend. You draw birds so beautifully.
Awe thanks Wendy.
