Our Common Ground
Mutual respect
cultivates seeds of friendship
our common ground

These trees, different from each other, share common ground, and the park is made more beautiful because of their harmony.

Finding where we agree and share commonality is a great way to prepare a field for sowing God’s Love.
I remember people reaching out to me even though my lifestyle was different from theirs.
Love and prayers built a bridge I eventually crossed.
A Fertile Place
Within our common ground
is a fertile place
where seeds may be sown
of God’s amazing grace.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

What drew you to God? Did someone build a bridge of love? I’d love to hear about it. Feel free to include a link to a blog post where you may already have written about this topic. Maybe you’re still undecided about faith stuff. What puzzles you the most about spiritually?

Love this!
Thank you, dear Karen.
Well it wasn’t the 4 spiritual laws pamphlet Wendy! It was, as you said, people loving me where I was at and I know they would have continued loving me even If I stayed there in the same place. <3
Diana xo
Diana, I remember reading the 4 spiritual laws pamplet and saying the prayer in it. But it wasn’t until a Christian reached out to me, years later, that I actually began to follow and believe. <3 Love's the key.
Love your images and thoughtful words…It always saddens me how focused we become on the things that pull us apart instead of the things that we share.
Thank you, Charlie. I’m getting practice at finding common ground during the political discussions going on these days. It’s election time in Canada. 🙂
Absolutely stunning Wendy! Your new camera is really great! Of course it’s mostly the person behind the lens. 🙂
Thank you, dear Laura. “The person behind (my) lens” has been having a blast these days. It’s exciting to be able to capture birds etc so much easier than before. <3
You’re so welcome. It really is amazing how better equipment can make better pictures almost instantly. And it only gets better! *tweet tweet*
Amazing is right. I was out bird-watching today–such feathered fun.
I love the alliteration!
Look for the common ground – totally agree. Can never say this too often.
Thank you, Diane. I’m finding it helpful with parenting since offspring tend to spring off in all directions as they test their wings. They need to feel accepted unconditionally as they explore.
Beautiful analogy… so very true, Wendy. Your photos are really stunning! <3 Iris
Thank you, dear Iris. I’m really enjoying the new camera my husband gave me. He delights to point out potential pictures too.
So very glad for you, Wendy. Your photos would make very nice postcards!
Thank you. <3 I'm hoping to do something with them in combination with poetry and prose one day. I've always loved devotional books like Daily Bread etc.
Thank you for the ping-back, Wanda.
Beautiful images Wendy.
Thank you, Don. Beautiful drawing you did. I always enjoy seeing your artwork.
Lovely all around and so very true. Thank you for uplifting my morning Wendy! Have a blessed and Joyous day!
Thank you, dear Rhonda. I was able to get out to this park again this week. Creation is definitely uplifting. Blessings on your Sunday.
Love and prayers definitely are the bridge. Beautiful photographs and writing, Wendy. 🙂
Thank you, dear Tracy. I’ve been writing about one of my friends who builds bridges. Some day I’ll share it. Blessings & hugs.
I loved your poem and photographs so much! I will have to come back and share. The Lord has used so many different people and experiences to draw me to Him throughout my life. I am not sure if I can come up with a definitive answer. Currently you and my other blogging friends are playing a big part.
Hugs and Blessings,
Theresa
Thank you, dear Theresa. I suspect there are many people the Lord has drawn to Himself, through you. Your posts and your visits always encourage me to keep looking to Him for my hope. xo
Love is the key Wendy, and you are right we do all have a common ground, its taking the time to find it that matters.
T.i.m.e. is one of the ways to spell love. Thank you, dear Kath.
