Beauty in creation is evidence of a Divine Artist and Creator.
~

So many types of shells, flowers, and even rocks reveal an imagination and artistry that didn’t stop until He’d said, “It is good.”
When God made us in His image He also said, “It is good.”
~
~
But there was one not so little detail He included in our nature. He gave us freewill. And when Adam and Eve were tempted to disobey God, they did.
Banished from the Garden of Eden and destined to die, they had to work long and hard to feed themselves. And the death of their innocence was passed down to the rest of us.
We are all born spiritually dead.
~
~
Beauty calls out to us.
It reminds us of a time before and a time to come. Perfection will once again be the place we call Home when we’ve believed and trusted in the One who paid the penalty for our sin.
Heaven is our good home.
And by the grace of God I’m walking the road that leads me to its shore.
Jesus makes us spiritually alive.

Today’s poem was inspired by some lovely words Diane Taylor wrote in the comment section of my previous post.
She has written a book about memoir writing, and I’ve been reading it on my tea breaks while I’m out in my garden. Slowly I’ve been writing notes about my own life journey I’ll be sharing one day.
Like Adam and Eve’s story, it has some not so pretty parts in it.
But God makes everything beautiful in its time.

Beautiful, Wendy. And I love your honesty. My most beautiful place to visit? I don’t think I’ve been there yet! 🙂 But you know I love to go to Disney World. But when I think of beautiful … I think of Alaska or Europe. One day! 🙂
Thank you, dear Shelli. My husband wants to go to Alaska. I’d love to take a Christian cruise up the coastline or fly in. Natural beauty is my favorite, and the old architecture and gardens of Europe would be beautiful too. I suspect the best part about Disney is the smiles on all the children’s faces. 🙂

I enjoy it here in my own state of Arkansas. It is referred to as “the natural state”. It is covered with trees and gets enough rain in the summer that it usually remains green in spite of the heat.. I like to go for drives down rural highways.

When I view the beauty and power of His creation I am quite content in knowing that we live by a logical and reasonable faith, not a blind one.
Thank you, Gene. You’ve quoted one of my all-time favorite Scriptures. This verse gives me peace when the atheists in my life shake their fingers at me and accuse God of not revealing Himself, and therefore they will not believe. I understand their frustration in how reliant we must be on faith rather than evidence, but Romans 1:20 clearly states we are without excuse. In the meantime I will keep praying for the Spirit to reveal how wide and deep His Love is for them, for all of us. Blessings, friend.

Hmmm…the most beautiful place I’d like to visit is a toss up between the mountains and the beach. Now that I think about it, I’ve seen more beauty while hiking in the mountains than anywhere else. But I think I like the beach better:)
Judy, there’s something about a beach that reaches down inside of us and calls us to rest. It can be the middle of a stressful week and a trip to an ocean or lake shore transports me to that ‘holiday’ place. I agree a beach is better.

Let’s see . . . one of the most beautiful places is a beach at sunset. I’ve been to Florida beaches, California beaches and Hawaiian beaches . . . they all take my breath away at sunset.

I already know how my memoir will begin and end, thanks to her wisdom. I appreciate your encouragement. I’m trusting in God’s timing for everything as I wait to hear back about my fiction manuscript. It’s been an honor to receive interest by agents. But I’m still new at this, and I anticipate a long road ahead. I look forward to reading another book of yours.
