God is able

to bring us home

safely carried

under His wing

to bow before

His glorious throne

where all His children

will dance and sing.

Now I can spend oodles of time raking up leaves

and dreaming about how I’m going to turn my first draft

into a finished book.

  1. Wendy:
I anticipate with great excitement being able to bow before His glorious throne. Thank you for this excellent post. I am extremely curious about photo six. Was this inverted? The plant (obviously a Northwest species) reminds me of how a miniature lichen (Cladonia chlorophaea? – Pixie Cups) grows here in Michigan.
I wish you the best as you develop, revise, and grow your first draft. ~ Richard

    1. Thank you, Richard. ❀ My husband also asked me if it was inverted. The Euphorbia had bent over on itself after a heavy rainfall. They caught my eye, as they looked like aliens. I don’t know its full botanical name. But one of its common names is Irish Bells. It’s invasive. So it’s in a bed of its own.

  2. I am so happy for you! This has got to be so rewarding and exciting. I love the poem. It is filled with comfort and promise, and goes nicely with the photos. You have such an inspiring blog.

    Blessings,
    Theresa

    1. Thank you, dear Theresa. I love the feeling of having pushed past obstacles to the finish line. I can’t even imagine what it will be like to finish the race of life and meet our Maker face to face. I’m so grateful for His love and grace. ❀ Blessings on your holiday.

  3. Congratulations on doing the NaNoWriMo–I’m thrilled for you (and so impressed, as I’ve never been up for the challenge). Lovely affirming post, as always–God bless you!

    1. Thank you, dear poet friend. I kept remembering that it’s just a first draft and to allow my muse to have its way with the words. “You can’t edit a blank page” was a mantra I borrowed from somewhere to keep me going when I thought my writing stunk. All first drafts stink. ❀

  4. Congratulations!!! 🙂 I know that feeling of accomplishment is just so cool, and the photos that accompanied your post are inspiring. Wishing you a lovely weekend my friend.
    Much love. 🙂

  5. God is able to… such reassuring lines Wendy! Glad that you’ve achieved the poetry writing for November. Have a lovely weekend… 🙂 Love, Iris

  6. Yay Wendy! Its a good feeling and one I will never forget, especially when things get tough with writing. You can look back and say….I did Nano I can surely do more. Good luck with shaping that draft into something special.

    1. Yes, we did it, Wendy! And Kath, not to hijack this post or anything, but I must thank you for the advice you gave me and the inspiration you gave us both. I’m so proud I took it on and we didn’t give up. Will blog about it in the coming days or next week. Thanks to both of you again. <3

      Jennifer xo

      1. Yay us! xo It sure helped to have someone to share the joys and trials of NaNoWriMo with. I look forward to your post, Jennifer. Blessings on your weekend. Hugs. ❀ (I sprinted across the finish line once I figured out who was the culprit in my novel.)

    2. Thank you, Kath. I learned some valuable things about meeting a writing deadline. It definitely boosted my confidence in that regard. And I love it when my muse takes over and surprises me with plot twists I didn’t see coming.❀

  7. What beautiful shots and words, dear Wendy! Good for you to persevere through the process and stick with it!!!! So glad to hear that you are one step closer to your goal 🙂 Blessings as you continue on your journey, friend!

    1. Thank you, dear Heidi. You’ve shown us, by your example of faith in action, that God is able to help us continue and complete the work He has planned for us to do. Blessings on your “expanded” family. ❀

  8. Congratulations – goals met are so satisfying. Our leaves are all down around here, and we rake some for the compost and mulch the rest for the lawn. But we have snow on the ground again. More like winters years ago.
    Peace

    1. Thank you. ❀ It sounds like global warming has skipped your neck-of-the-woods. We have frost and sunshine here today, and I’ve already got a blister from raking. 😉 So worth it.

  9. So so happy with you for getting it done! Yay Jesus! And what a beautiful post and photos to go along with the good news! Thank you, Wendy and God bless!

    1. Thank you, sweet Debbie. I love the respite of reading your blog posts.Your most recent one is especially touching. Jesus, alone, is my true joy giver, and He is more than enough. ❀

  10. I am just loving these leaves, Wendy!! I have to say I do have a favorite… (5th pic) a single autumn brown leaf on top of green. (How true of fate ~to take chance and be pleasantly surprised.)

Congratulations on finishing the NaNoWriMo and enjoy raking up those wonderful, beautiful, inspiring leaves, my friend! Blessings ~Zoey

  11. Just checking in to see what you’ve been doing with your blog lately and I’m stunned! You have been hard at work in many ways. Congratulations on meeting your goal, Wendy! I am so excited for you…REALLY excited for you. Blessings, Dee

    1. Thank you, dear Dee. My daughter’s home-school teacher was amazed at her naturally creative writing skills (as I have been for years), and I’m hoping that one day we’ll both be published. ❀

  12. Well done Wendy! And these photos are beautiful.
My project is my new poetry book which should be available shortly. Just waiting forcsome formalities which are holding up the process but you will all know about it when it’s ready!

  13. You’ve done it, Wendy. Finished another novel. Congratulations and thank you for uplifting us with another beautiful blog post. How I love all those autumn leaves.

  14. THANK YOU FOR BEAUTY POURING FORTH FROM A BEAUTIFUL SOUL. THAT GOD IS ABLE TO TAKE US ALL THE WAY TO OUR HEAVENLY HOME IS THE CHRISTIAN’S COMFORT; SIMPLE? FOR HIM, NOTHING IS TOO HARD! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACHIEVEMENT!
