Autumn’s Song
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Character’s deepened
harvest hues etched
upon lingering leaves
scarlet edged
~
~
Cold coal nights
with fracturing frosts
starved of sunlight
yet gold embossed
~
~
Beauty’s emboldened
though veiled all along
foliage sways dance like
to late autumn’s song
~
~
A season’s emerging
when all dross is done
bare branches as brides
under white winter’s Sun.
Thank you, Sue! It pays to keep a camera in your pocket…
I always carry a spare 🙂
I need to… yesterday my camera battery ran out while out taking pictures in a park. I’d taken over 250 pictures. 😉
I say nothing…. I’m an addict….
Mine will usually take about 600 before it runs out…. I have been known to manage that on a good day 🙂
Oh wendy-Lee, I’ve so missed you!
Your pictures and poetry are always so special. I hope you and your family are all well.
Love and hugs from Oz, Paula xxx
Thank you! We had frost this morning in our town; our garden trees sheltered our place from it. The surrounding mountains are now winter white.
What a beautiful poem. I love the leaves you chose for this one, so light filled. And glad to hear that you haven’t had snow yet! It’s too early for that.
Thank you, Linda! I’ll be happy to see the snow stay up on the mountains for a few more weeks…
