A crocus in focus

Town crier of spring

I rejoice in your message

Glad tidings you bring

Your voice is vivacious

And loud it doth ring

Now even the robins

have joined you to sing.

Some of you may have noticed

I have not been hanging out in the blog world quite as much.

  I have spring fever

and I’ve begun planting seeds, pulling weeds, and other good garden deeds.

  Oh, yippee! I love spring.

I do hope you’re all enjoying the extra sunshine

as it spotlights the floral tapestry

or fills you with hope

that soon buds will be blooming in your neighborhood too.

  1. What a lovely bouquet of poems and pictures! I am glad you’ve been able to garden more, though I certainly look forward to your blogging visits, too! Spring is here in FL, as well as L’s spring break–for now I sit with him as he coughs and rests!

    Enjoy your garden! Blessings–Alison

    1. Thank you, Alison! Two of our kids are sick right now also… My tomato seeds have sprouted on the window ledge and I’ve planted peas, sweet peas, and potatoes under protection. Seeds always make me think of hope. Hope in Christ!

    1. Thank you, Heidi! It is still cool here (not cold), and so I can do the heavier work, now, without getting over-heated. I hope you are getting lots of sunshine – I love sunlight on snow!

  2. I can’t wait for spring! The pictures and poems are even more lovely considering its snowing outside today here in Cambridge…

    1. May your spring come soon! I’ve heard that it’s been a very cold and white winter over there. Thank you for your visit!

Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂

    1. Maria, you are a poet in words and spirit that you put such thought and care into a comment. Thank you and hugs! Happy spring to you too!

  3. Love LOVE the ‘crocus in focus’ – and all of your spring colours. My soul is panting to see anything green and growing – and the snow keeps coming! *sigh* Winter’s time is running out, however, and soon I hope to be out weeding with you! 🙂

    1. Melody, my middle child loved it too! He loves to draw, and I’ll bet it would be fun to draw this one… May your snow fly north and leave you with spring!

  4. SO enjoyed your poems with the floral photos! Here in Southern California, our flowers are blooming around the house. Love the spring time! Praise The Lord : )

  5. WOW, you’ve been a busy lady, Wendy!! I love these poems and photos so much! We got snow flurries on the first day of spring–and a couple inches More the next day. I’m fretting about my Chinese Cherry Trees, “who” had already begun to blossom so prettily….otherwise, I wouldn’t care much. God bless you this Palm Sunday weekend–love, sis Caddo

    1. Caddo, I’m getting muscles again after a slack winter! I hope those lovely trees’ blossoms fare well and not go farewell! Hugs!

  6. Wendy, these poems and photos are exquisite! Don’t you worry about blogging right now .. follow your heart into the garden! We will be blessed with you as you do! God bless you bunches!

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Debbie! Today it is a hike with my oldest son that will pull me away from the blog. 🙂 I appreciate how he watches out for me and encourages my picture taking. 😉

  7. Good morning from Oz!
How are you Wendy-Lee? I’m back from my holiday and looking forward to seeing photos of your beautiful flowers. Love and hugs to you…,Paula xxx

    1. Welcome back from your holiday, Paulama! 🙂 Huge hugs! I’ll bet all the critters were glad to see you again… I’ll come on over to see if you’ve posted anymore vacation shots.

Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo

  8. wonderful words to compliment your beautiful photos Wendy…enjoy your time planting seeds…we still have a great deal of snow so planting seeds isn’t happening here right now!

    1. Thank you, Heather! I can only plant cool weather stuff for now, except in the greenhouse or under row cover. Enjoy your break from gardening…I’m breaking into it gradually so I don’t seize up! 😉

Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo

    1. Laura, I’ve heard from several other UK bloggers that it’s been a very white winter for you all. I hope spring leaps onto the UK stage soon and makes up for the delay.

  9. I think you’ve got the idea for Elfjes and Acrostic Elfjies down pat!
Lovely spring things. We’ve actually got snow trespassing on our spring today! Up to 7 inches predicted!

Thanks for your kind words and visits.
    Cheers.

  10. Lovely spring offerings! I, too, am anxious to get out in the garden, especially with more sunshine these days. Now if the snow will finally disappear once and for all.
