aged by time
a silver lining
I will find
as wisdom’s harvest
better than wine
is aged to perfection
in a godly mind
A bouquet of joy
the new iced kind
is pure and white

The silver strands in my hair remind me that I’ll be trading this model in for an imperishable one once I’ve reached the final destination of this life journey… but in the meantime I have a Mechanic that keeps my engine in tune and He’s making sure I get Home on time…

“…aged to perfection in a godly mind…”. I love that line–with the constant renewing of our minds, the right conditions are present to perfectly age the wisdom we receive. This makes me think more about being an earthen vessel. What is going in? What is growing in my heart? Are the conditions ideal to ripen wisdom? I hope as I progress in age, I will stay centered on wisdom, grace, and faith.
You asked what qualities aging has brought to life’s wine: physical contentment. I am happy (most of the time) with what’s on the outside and know that the inside needs far more attention and discipline! Being a mommy has changed my muscle tone in the midsection, but whenever I start to lament these changes, I remember why it happened and rejoice that I was able to grow two amazing little people right inside of me!

If I could do it again – I’d have had more babies. I heard, once, that Martha Stewart said that her only regret in life was that she did not have more children.

Every day I get older and every day I desire God more. I would have never guessed when I was a pessimistic unbeliever, that life under God’s wing would be so great. That was only 11 short years ago.
Now even under trials I challenge myself to find joy and succeed. Pray all the best for you!

I’ve read The Hobbit aloud to the kids a few years ago and when the movie came out, this Christmas, I asked them not to remind me what was in the book… We went as a family to see it. I, of course, was surprised by it all. 😉 I’m with you girl!

I had to resign from prison ministry this week, as I am currently unable to stand for long periods of time on the cement floors. I’ve felt the Lord leading me to resign for a while, but have fought against it, because of my love for them, but He told me that He’s calling me to something else now, so I will only be ministering to them in prayer now, not in person, unless the Lord leads me back there. Thank you for asking, because I truly do love those ladies, and it was very hard to leave this ministry.
