Hopeful Blessings ~ Wendy
We had a white Christmas followed by a rain drenched New Year’s Day! I guess you could say that we had a fresh start to 2013… What has your first week of 2013 been like?
So far so good…no complaints! I am happy to see you today.
I am glad to hear that 2013 is going well for you so far, Laurie! This morning I heard on the news that the NHL hockey teams may be playing again shortly. This will make a lot of Canadians very happy. 🙂

With the exception of one cold sunny day, last week was rainy and bone chilling. For us on the South Texas Gulf Coast that means temperatures that don’t rise above the mid 40’s in the daytime. 🙂 This week is predicted to be much the same, with storms and heavy rain tomorrow. Since we have had no hard freezes yet, I am still enjoying fresh herbs from the garden. Basil is the only thing that hasn’t survived.
Yum! Fresh herbs in January sounds wonderful, Mary Ann. The rain has washed away most of our snow – except, of course, in our mountains. But I have more snow pictures to show this week…

Wet but full of rainbows!
I love rainbows! 🙂

I am waiting for springtime heh
Me too! 😉 I wrote two more Haiku, today, about spring. I’ll post them later this month…

great photos…except for today we’ve had milder weather than is usual…can’t complain!
Thank you, Heather! Mild is nice for walking in – no slipping hazard on ice… Ours is mild today too.

Well let me tell you, I usually don’t like the beginning of the year because not only is it cold and dreary but my birthday is the following week. However, the Lord has convicted me about being blue about being a year older. So now I’m praising God for getting a year older and a year closer to glory. Blessing Wendy, I think I feel a post to my blog coming on lol.
Early Happy Birthday greetings to you, Shazza! I will be 52 in March, so I’m closer to glory than you…(only in age)! I don’t feel quite as perky as normal this time of year; but I give myself permission to walk a little slower etc. 😉

Love seeing the snow on the branches! So picturesque!
Thank you, Daisy! We don’t get snow, normally, very long here…but it’s a cheery change when it does.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo ( I am thinking about B&W pictures still…can’t wait to try it!)
Haha! You made me laugh out loud! I’m sure you’ll have fun playing with the B&Ws.
🙂 I’ve already asked hubby how to use my program to do it. I’m going to check it out later. 😉
Very nice winter photos
Thank you! Welcome to my blog – nice to meet you!

Let me try a Haiku to answer:
My daughter got hives
Itchy, painful, all over
Glad she got better
Son had long time off
Returns to school tomorrow
We had lots of fun
Dear husband busy
Helping sick people at work
I pray for his joy
Need to clean the house
But need to clean my heart more
Only Jesus can!
It’s been a good start to 2013. Looking forward to writing more soon! Loving the winter pictures as we continue with tropical weather! Blessings to you tonight–Alison
Alison, I love how you answered my question! Great Haiku! I’ll be waiting to see one on your blog with some of your own pictures too. 🙂
My youngest brother used to get hives when he was little…I’d forgotten all about that. Glad your little girl is better. My cold has mellowed out so I could do some cleaning today. I agree that our heart cleaning should always take priority…

Hi Wendy-Lee! Morning! Well, in Oz anyway. Lol
What a pretty photo. 🙂 enjoy your day or night? …….Paula xx
Thank you! 🙂 Good morning, Paulama! I hope your renovations of the country abode are going well and that you are having restful moments too.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
I feel heaps better and my nephew postponed going back for a few days, so I’ve had even more rest! *Yes* xxxx
Awesome, sweet friend! Glad to hear it! xo
Haiku galore! Nice. It has warmed up here, too, not to the point of raining of course…
Glad to hear it’s not too cold for you, Melody! We have frequent mild days – but you have more sunshine… I love those blue skies I often see in your blog photos. 🙂
Blessings dear friend & neighbor ~ Wendy xo
Wonderful haiku! You have us waiting with you . .and a little shivery! We just have patches of snow on the ground and the temps are suppose to be better the next few days. 🙂 Can’t complain! God bless you as you keep us uplifted this winter!
Thank you, Debbie! Your weather sounds similar to ours. Our garden only has patches of snow left in shady spots…but I still have snow photos in my file that haven’t melted away! 😉
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Wow, you have a million people here today, Wendy!! Great short poem, and photos! We’re holding our breath, down here–don’t know when it might rain, or snow…still mild temps during the day. God bless you and your family–love, sis Caddo
I hope you don’t get snow, Caddo, as I know that you do a lot of walking. It’s mild here too. I’m itching to putter outside in the garden now that I’m much better. There’s always some little thing I can do out there and I love the fresh air. Stay safe & warm dear sis! Hugs!

Beautiful picture and Haiku! We’re having unusually warm weather here in South Central Alaska, and these old bones are loving it! Sharing God’s goodness makes everyday a blessing. Hope you have a wonderfully blessed day!
Thank you, Amber! I sure know what you mean by old bones loving warmth…I’m buddies with my hot water bottle. 😉 And you are right – God is good all the time! I’m glad you are having a break from the cold. It is sure beautiful country up where you live.
Blessings dear new friend ~ Wendy xo
looking at your winter posts makes me miss snow…i know most of you out there are already fed up with it but for us who lives in tropical islands still get so eager to see snow…hope to experience this again on my next winter trip….
Susan, right now I miss sunlight! I guess there is good to be found wherever we live. 😉

Every season has it’s place. Though our warmer temps this winter make it seem as if spring will arrive early. I do like looking out the window on clear nights and seeing the stars.
Cheers.
I agree with you about it being nice to see stars on a clear night. We have a lot of trees, so I need to go outside to see any twinkling stars. When I let the dog into the run, I often walk around in the dark observing the sky until he barks to be let out…
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂
