I loved your prayer, thanking God for the red carpet of Jesus. As Christians, we look excitedly to heaven…my husband said the other day, almost unexpectedly, “I can’t wait to go to heaven.”. There was weariness, and I pray that all of us can shine brightly until we are brought *home*!

I tend to say what your husband said when I’m sick ( I have a cold right now 😉 ) and when I’m overtired. As we get older we can still have lots to do for others in service to God – but I’ll bet that longing for home will get even stronger! It’s okay to get homesick as long as it motivates us to endure as we look forward to what is to come. My heart goes out to those who work in the medical field. It’s rewarding but tough. Your husband is so blessed to have a praying lady by his side!

Actually, my dear husband has also been sick. Long lasting coughs wear him down. Feel better! His favorite kitchen remedy is spicy noodle products: his mom’s Vietnamese pho; Korean ramen; noodles everywhere!
He knows there is still much for him/us to do here, but it is a daily need to be grateful and to focus on God, not ourselves or earthly rewards. His career is tough. We spoke and prayed last night about our journey thus far and all the scars. We have seen Jesus so vividly, though, even and especially in bitter and desperate situations!
It was so refreshing to sit still and pray together as husband and wife. Have a lovely, encouraging evening! –Alison

Thank you, Daisy! You are so sweet! I guess I get to be lazy guilt free… I found some chicken soup in the freezer and it went down well. Lots left for hubby who is a day ahead on this silly bug. My kids were content with leftover spaghetti I made yesterday. 🙂 So far it seems like a normal cold. I’m so glad you are well again.

With our odd weather here, we sometimes have yellow forsythia blooming in November and December. Very nice hiaku.
