Crimson autumn leaves

winter’s red carpet welcome

now lies under snow.

These tayberry leaves are visible from my kitchen window and are still hanging onto the branches!  The other red leaves of autumn have already done their carpet duty and have had a proper snowy burial…

Red Carpet Blessings ~ Wendy

Thank you, Lord, for welcoming us into your home through the flowing red carpet of Jesus.

  1. I loved your prayer, thanking God for the red carpet of Jesus. As Christians, we look excitedly to heaven…my husband said the other day, almost unexpectedly, “I can’t wait to go to heaven.”. There was weariness, and I pray that all of us can shine brightly until we are brought *home*!

Stay close to him today and always…may blessings abound! –Alison

    1. I tend to say what your husband said when I’m sick ( I have a cold right now 😉 ) and when I’m overtired. As we get older we can still have lots to do for others in service to God – but I’ll bet that longing for home will get even stronger! It’s okay to get homesick as long as it motivates us to endure as we look forward to what is to come. My heart goes out to those who work in the medical field. It’s rewarding but tough. Your husband is so blessed to have a praying lady by his side!

Blessings dear Alison ~ Wendy xo ( I going to dig out some frozen soup to heat up.)

      1. Actually, my dear husband has also been sick. Long lasting coughs wear him down. Feel better! His favorite kitchen remedy is spicy noodle products: his mom’s Vietnamese pho; Korean ramen; noodles everywhere!

He knows there is still much for him/us to do here, but it is a daily need to be grateful and to focus on God, not ourselves or earthly rewards. His career is tough. We spoke and prayed last night about our journey thus far and all the scars. We have seen Jesus so vividly, though, even and especially in bitter and desperate situations!

It was so refreshing to sit still and pray together as husband and wife. Have a lovely, encouraging evening! –Alison

  2. What a great price He paid to welcome us into His family…. the death of His Son on the cross. Thank you for the wonderful picture of Christ’s blood bieng the red carpet laid out to us. Very well done. Lord bless you.

  3. Beautiful post, as usual, Wendy! You are so encouraging. May the Lord touch you and heal you… praying for you that you’ll feel better very soon! Love to you, Daisy.

    1. Thank you, Daisy! You are so sweet! I guess I get to be lazy guilt free… I found some chicken soup in the freezer and it went down well. Lots left for hubby who is a day ahead on this silly bug. My kids were content with leftover spaghetti I made yesterday. 🙂 So far it seems like a normal cold. I’m so glad you are well again.

  4. I love how He just draws you to these photos and then draws a poem out of you! Thinking of Jesus being our red carpet took my breath away! Thank you and God bless you, sweet Wendy! Praying you feel better soon. ..ggrrr to colds!
p.s. I was reading in Psalms 65:11 and thought of you and all your beautiful water drop pictures! “You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.” 🙂

    1. Oh, Debbie, I love the NKJV of that verse! I would like to use it in a drippy post I have in my draft box. Thank you so much for it and your prayers. Right now I’m battling a drippy nose! 😉

Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy xo

  5. I just LOVE the idea of Jesus welcoming us on His red carpet–WOW, that really makes me feel like a star! Such a blessing, you are, Wendy! love, sis Caddo

    1. By grace we are royalty, too, Caddo! Hugs to you dear sis! But here on this planet we also share in His sufferings – for now…

    1. Thank you! It would throw me for a loop if my neighbor’s forsythia bloomed too early, since that is how I know it’s time to prune my roses…

      Blessings ~ Wendy 🙂
