Dressed in White

Dressed in white
on a winter’s night
as children gather
around
Snowflakes descend
it seems without end
until green is no longer
found
Excited they play
on an ivory day
until snowman
and snow forts are built
They run
and have fun
until the day’s done
when limbs are so tired
they wilt!
Wendy/2012
This describes our winter “snow days” in the country. Homeschooling would be set aside while the children played nonstop…until they heard the front porch dinner-bell ringing.

Love to see all this snow!! and such a happy poem too 😀 A very merry Christmas to you, sweet Wendy!! One of the best things in 2012 was “meeting” you!
Calee, your comment is a gift, as is meeting you! I always enjoy visiting your blog. Friends like you make blogging so rewarding and fun!

Wow, pretty as the snow often is, I’m thanking God for “just rain” here–so that I can get to the store and back! God bless you and your family abundantly–love, Caddo
I’m glad to hear that you don’t have to walk in it, Caddo! Ours is being washed away by rain. My favorite time for it to snow is on a Friday night when the fridge is full, and no one has to go anywhere!
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Beautiful! Many happy memories of playing for hours in the snow.
Thank you, Alison! I also have memories of numb toes and fingers that tingled until they hurt, once I went in the house to warm up… My kids faces would get so red and cold – I remember feeling the coldness against my skin as I hugged them. I just love chubby toddlers’ faces! Enjoy their soft faces because they grow up so fast…

Thank you, Daisy!

This filled me with so much warmth . ..just the thought of the kids playing non-stop, until they were happily tired and hungry! So wonderful . .thank you, dear Wendy, and God bless you!
Thanks Debbie! They cherish those country memories too… as I cherish your visits!

Yay – your Christmas will be white! 🙂 Beautiful rhythm to this one, beautiful pics to match!
Thanks Melody! I still need to come see your prairie snow, as this coastal stuff doesn’t hang around long… 😉 I may need you to send some on the bus Dec.24th!
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy xo
I wonder how much the shipping costs will be??? 🙂
Maybe I’d be better off just scraping the stuff off in my freezer and just spread it around…;) It needs it. (and no carbon footprint that way)
Is there enough to go snowmobiling on?? 😀
Ha ha ha! Now I’m all green again… 😉
