Sumptuous Sundae

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sumptuous sundae of vanilla cream
under blueberry sherbert glace
My eyes devour you in a flash
though you may last for days
But when the fullness of fog rolls in
this swell course will then be done
And I’ll look again for my dessert
when your deliciousness shines in the sun!
The verse that follows was one that my husband had included with the new family Bible he presented to me, when we were newlyweds (29 yrs ago).  It was printed on the wrapping paper which had pictures of ice-cream cones all over it.  I just happen to love ice-cream!
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8
    1. Thank you, David. It is the Comox Glacier on Vancouver Island in BC, Canada. We can get a glimpse of it from our front garden…I took this shot further down our road where the trees are not in the way…
  1. Wow! I love your images–and I SO love the story of your husband giving you a Bible, wrapped in cool paper! I don’t s’pose he has a spare older brother or uncle or somethin’ not doing anything these days? By the way, I found my copy of “The Woman in White”–so, are you and Melody and I going to start a book club, and read it after Christmas? You gals probably have less free time than I–but it sure would be fun!! God bless you Big–love, sis Caddo
    1. Caddo, I’d love to have you for a sister in a flash! I’ll keep my eyes open for a good and godly man ( with tall, dark, & handsome thrown in for good measure)! Yes, I think I may start reading that book right away since I’m a slow savoring reader… great idea you have there!
  2. I love ice cream, but God’s goodness is infinitely greater and sweeter! The Bible was a superb wedding gift! Enjoy that fantastic view–every picture you post makes me want to visit your corner of the world! (Besides the fact that it would be a blessing to visit you and your garden and glacier in person!)
    By the way, I did get a picture of my “pink marshmallow” girl yesterday. 🙂
    Blessings to you–Alison
    1. I’m glad to hear that you got a picture of the little lady in pink! She will appreciate it a lot when she is older… I treasure the younger day photos of our crew.
    1. For you, Melody, I’ll always have an extra spoon! Poets need to stick together. I’m still a bit full from the care package we got. Last night I ate an apple for my snack as I’m sugared out already..! 😉
      1. It’s hard to resist the tempting treats this time of year – we will all have food on our subconscious I think! (How big is your extra spoon? ) *giggle*
  3. Afternoon Wendy-Lee from Oz 🙂 I love Hokey Pokey ice-cream 🙂 I’m getting really busy now, so if you don’t see me on every post don’t think I’ve deserted you, I shall do my best to keep up 🙂 5 more sleeps! 🙂 Paula xxxxx
    1. Enjoy your table for 40 guests! Wow, Paulama, I’m impressed!! Take care dear friend. I’ll be burning the midnight oil in my sewing room finishing a gift for my husband and daughter… 😉
  4. What a sweet poem and pic and story! I love how God just ties your posts all together, with a cherry on top! 🙂 God bless you and yours as you see His goodness each day!
    1. Debbie, your words are perfect as I read them this morning. Just before falling asleep, last night, I was going over my thank you list to Him for some simple joys from yesterday…
