Drenched – Not Benched!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Drenched
Quenched
Almost drowned
Sky’s showers
coming down
Battered
Splattered
Fully soaked
Cloudy chorus
loudly spoke
Showered
Scoured
Newly cleaned
Better than
you’ve ever been!
Wendy/2012
Sometimes we just need a life storm to help us clean out the clutter in our hearts, and focus on what really matters – with a clean slate!
Showers of Blessings ~ Wendy
PS – I figured I ought to share some of the rain we’ve been having… These are photos from earlier this year.
love the photos with the drops captured…very nice post
Thank you! Water-drop photos are my favorite to take.
Beautiful photos! And yes, sometimes we need the cleansing and refreshing of the rain.
Nice pictures and poem, Wendy! 🙂 I’m so tired of the constant rain, but it does look nice in photographs! And better rain than constant drought!!
Thank you, Calee! You are sure right about rain being better than drought! It makes mushrooms grow well, at least. 🙂
Gorgeous images! Wonderful poetry!
Thank you! I really enjoyed creating this post!
Loving the message here, about those storms and the rain helping us to focus on what matters the most! God bless you as you keep seeing Him in the nature all around you!
Thanks, Debbie! Like you – I can’t help it! I was just writing in response to the picture… it seems like, with me, all of nature leads to Heaven.
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy
Freshly scoured – love the rhyme scheme and rhythm of this one, Wendy. And the idea behind the words is just as delicious!
Thanks, Melody! I had the soaked squash blossom in mind as I wrote. They get all dramatic looking after a summer rainstorm! Kinda like me when I run out of an ingredient in the middle of a recipe… 😉
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy
And yet, you don’t post a photo of yourself all dramatic-looking! Hmmmm…. 🙂 *chuckle*
That would be a scary post…! 😉
Safer your garden unkempt than its mistress?? 🙂
Morning Wendy! *waving* How are you today? Love your photo’s and poem! Enjoy the day…..Paula xx
Hi Paula! How’s your day going so far? I’m tuckering out here in Canada as it’s now after 9 pm… I had a good day. The sun came out to play, so I took some more mushroom photos since all the rain we’ve had has caused so many to grow!
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy xo
I love mushrooms! It’s now 7pm and I just finished cleaning up the dinner dishes. Had a great day with my grandsons and daughter in-law…Christmas shopping! *smiling* They live in our country property so usually I only get to see them on weekends. Really lovely spending time in the city with them! ……..Paula xxx
Paula, your day sounds like it was marvelous! Oh my, I just can’t wait for grandchildren!! Meantime I am loving up my children while they are near enough to hug. 🙂 Have a good sleep, dear friend.
Blessings ~ Wendy xo
Nice tempo here.
Thank you, Ian!
Hi Wendy, I’m sorry I’m so late getting here–I’ve been baking like a crazy woman! These are such lovely photos, and I LOVE the poem–how do you do that, find all those words that go together that way?! Dang good poet, you are, Sister!! God bless you–love, sis Caddo
Caddo, I often wonder how you are so creative day after day? I guess we inherited it from our Father…
Thank you dear Sister ~ Wendy xo
great connection…love the photos
Thanks, Gracie!
I had a lot of fun with this one!
