Just Right

Just right
Some days are just right
The beach is bare
and the scene before us
beckons us to draw near
and cast aside
our daily cares
An ocean portrait
with a chosen hue of blue
that provides us with
color therapy
to pacify
a manic mood
Yes
with moments like this
we can go on
walking ahead
facing each stumbling stone
on our path
and not give up
instead
Is this
what You had in mind
when You carved out
the sea’s bends
and fastened a frame
of crushed shells
and burnished giants
that graciously garnish
the ends?

This is Fanny Bay Park in October. We stopped here since we were passing by anyway. Ian wanted me to see this serene little spot.
Bay Blessings ~ Wendy
What a beautiful place! I’m glad Ian showed it to you, and you show it to all of us. 🙂
Thanks, Calee! Ian has always loved introducing me to new places. Our power went off, for awhile, this morning from high winds…I’ll bet Fanny Bay looked wild!
Blessings ~ Wendy
Very nice and Love the pictures. What an amazing scene.
Thank you! It is a tranquil spot.

This is all wonderful, Wendy–but for some reason my fave line is “An ocean portrait with a chosen hue of blue”–Love it!! God bless you–love, sis Caddo
Thank you so much, dear sis Caddo! I had trouble with that line and it finally came together after a night’s sleep! He choses the colors – creation is definitely not a paint by number… you just made my day!
Blessings to you, dear friend ~ Wendy xo
Hi Wendy, This is lovely, “just right.” Thank you, Ellen
🙂 Ellen, your acrostic, that I just read, is just right! Thank you!

Let’s walk all the seas bends together and search for the ends. MWA.
It’s a deal, Ian! We better do it before the kids move out – so that they can take care of the pets… 😉

I loved the line about color therapy for a manic mood…and I’m glad you have that serene place to seek out in person or memory when the thoughts get frantic! I was stirred up emotionally yesterday, and I am looking forward tonight to the serenity, peace, and encouragement of praying with my dear husband…we always say after we pray together, “we need to do this more!”. I hope your power came back on! –Alison
Hi Alison,
Our power went out twice this morning. It had been windy. Then it cleared up, and I was able to rake up the last of the willow leaves in the sunshine.
I think my husband is never more handsome than when he takes my hand in his and says, “Let’s pray.”
Motherhood and life in general are good for making manic moods! I got upset at a radio interviewer I was listening to while loading the dishwasher… I won’t go into it here, but my nickname for our CBC station is “Can’t be Christian”. I like our national radio most of the time…
Blessings to you dear friend, and I hope your evening is packed full of peace. 🙂 ~ Wendy ( I wish we could run out for a cup of tea/ coffee together.)
The real cup of coffee or tea would be so lovely! Our evening was very peaceful, thank you. Tears of gratitude, praise, and desperation to God always wash our hearts and minds. Prayer as a married couple is definitely one of the most precious gifts ever. I still remember praying with V. on our first date by the Mississippi River in New Orleans!
I hope to write in my blog soon…these days and evenings are whipping by and I haven’t say down to just write in what feels like a long time!
Must wake up my sleeping girl in the backseat to get her brother from school! –Alison
Alison, you are focusing on your young children and that is good. As they get older you will gradually have more time to write. I do not regret the time I have spent with my kids, and I know that you don’t regret your mothering either.
That is so awesome that you prayed together on your first date! We played racquetball and he won while playing with his left hand to give me an advantage… I have beaten a guy at it before; but that guy beat me the second time.
I need to get ready to drive my daughter to piano lessons – time to sit in the van and write poems ( with no interruptions! 🙂 ) One day we will miss the busyness.
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy
Morning Wendy! *waving* what a beautiful spot, great photos!…….Paula x
Good morning, Paula! I hope you got more sleep than I did last night… my son and I were watching spider footage on Youtube. Our cat darted past our legs during a scary part, and we all jumped. She likes to startle us!! Then we couldn’t stop laughing… 🙂
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy

Wendy, I loved the idea of color therapy too and how with “moments like this we can go on.” 🙂 Thanking Him for giving us moments like this! God bless you and your sweet family!
Thank you, Debbie! I, too, appreciate those restful moments in life that He bestows upon us.
Blessings to you dear friend ~ Wendy

Wendy, I love these photos!! What a special place. I’m so thankful for places like this where “the scene before us beckons us to draw near and cast aside our daily cares”… love that line!! That is exactly how I feel when I come upon one of those places. I thank God for them, and for the wonderful sense of His presence. Thanks for sharing that lovely poem and the wonderful pics! 🙂
Thank you so much, Daisy! I truly enjoy the posts that you share of beautiful places and of that beautiful spotted horse you posted today!!
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy
