Hunter’s Moon

Hunter’s Moon

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You shine
glowing
over cold coals
of night
The red embers
of sunset
long extinguished
Only You
shed evening’s
Light
I search
in curtain
of clouds
for your Face
unveiling the hope
of seeing
my way
through
this place
Your letters
left
behind
that we may read
spell out…
“An earnest
quest will yield
the filling
of this
need.”
Hunter’s Moon Blessings ~ Wendy
PS – It’s hard not to think of the face of God when gazing at a full moon. When it’s dark outside, I like having the comfort of moonlight, and when life offers dark times, I especially appreciate the presence of my Heavenly Father helping me to navigate my way through them…
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
  1. Reading your words as well as viewing your images have brought lots of calm this morning. Thank you! 😉
    1. Yes, just as a husband and wife desire undivided love – even more so the Lover of our soul requires it. Yet, even in this, He helps us in our weakness. How can we help but adore him? Hugs.
  2. Just the other night a crescent moon rose about 4:30 am at the same time as Venus. But the whole of the moon was clearly visible as the two came more and more into view. I was at work so I had no camera, so all I have is the image in my heart. The night sky can be so inspiring…
      1. Truly, I’m not just “blowing smoke”! There is something so haunting and beautiful about the moon–especially full moons. I need to start working on my full moon poem for this month–it’s become a self-challenge prompt! And, thank you for your lovely compliment, as well–poets like us, who use the Holy Spirit Muse, just naturally gravitate toward each other.
    1. Thank you, Dee, for noticing that line. I have always enjoyed watching embers glowing in a fire, as it slowly goes out, and sunsets make me think of this.
    1. Thank you, Melody! I know that I just want a David heart. Solomon had wisdom – but he didn’t finish well… Maybe he should have kept sheep for awhile, instead of wives? Pardon my tangent…just read about that yesterday.
  3. How beautiful Wendy . . the photos, poem and scripture! I loved the part about searching for His face. This really blessed me and comforted me today! Thank you and God bless you as you seek and find Him!
    1. I will be talking to the “Prince of Peace” as I fall asleep, tonight, and asking him to help my oldest son ( 17) sleep. He has a bad cough and had to get stitches tonight on two fingers, as he cut himself picking up a broken jug that the poor fellow dropped on the kitchen floor. We all learn that one the hard way. Use paper towel etc. to pick up broken glass. Ouch! Wish I’d been in the room to warn him… I’m not always peaceful – but I know where to go to get filled up with peace. 😉
